The day is for mentored or newly recognised doulas and will focus on the practical aspects of working as a doula.

  • Debriefing experiences – professional and personal
  • Relating to medical staff and challenging situations
  • Looking after yourself and the doula’s own agenda
  • 'On-call', working and family life
  • Interviews, listening and communicating
  • Antenatal, birth and postnatal working – as appropriate to the group
  • DUK Philosophy, Code of Conduct and Recognition Process
  • Contracts/visits
  • Fees
  • Business matters – being self-employed, insurance and marketing

Cost for the day is £40
