My name is Chloë Honoré, and I live in Bruton, Somerset, with my Danish husband and our three daughters. I love nature, drawing, painting, cooking, reading, sunshine, snow, beautiful gardens, animals and spending time with my friends and family.
Having had three very different births, the last one being the most incredible and empowering experience of my life, I decided that I wanted to help other women during this special yet vulnerable time. I am most happy when I am helping and caring for people, and supporting women and their families during the birth of their babies. Being a doula is the perfect job for me and one that I feel hugely privileged to do.
I genuinely believe that it is 100% possible for all women to have a positive birth experience, and to help that happen, I provide emotional and practical support before, during & after the birth of your baby.
I have a full DBS, insurance and a clean driving licence.
Chloë was with us for the birth of my third child, and I am so thankful she was! The birth was a real rollercoaster of emotions from start to finish. Having been induced a week early due to Gestational Diabetes and what they thought was a large baby (turned out he wasn’t!!) it was a very long, painful and exhausting birth. Chloë was an amazing support to both my partner and I throughout, she was with us right from the start, as soon as we got to the hospital in the morning to start the induction, to the birth the following morning. How she managed to stay awake the whole time was incredible!!! Chloë came armed with knowledge and a super caring personality, not to mention the endless laughs. I don’t think I have laughed as much in any of my births, even when the contractions started to kick in, we were laughing in between. I never really considered having a Doula before I met Chloë, as I felt having someone else at the birth would be a bit strange, but it really does help. It gave my partner a break so he could have a rest, and it was a comfort to have another female present, who really understood what I was going through and could be my voice when I needed her to. I was getting close to full dilation, totally exhausted and out of it on gas and air and in unbearable pain so they offered me Pethidine. Chloë asked all the questions I was unable to articulate, and my partner didn’t have a clue about, and made the right decisions with me. Unfortunately, things took a very scary turn when my baby had Shoulder Dystocia (his head was out, but his shoulder was stuck behind my pubic bone) this is an emergency situation and the room was suddenly flooded with people. Thankfully they managed to get him out in time. It was during this moment that Chloë was the biggest support to my partner, who was absolutely terrified and in tears, she remained totally calm and reassured him out of the way whilst the doctors worked on me. Chloë stayed with us post birth for several hours as we were all in total shock. There was so much joy that he was safe and well, we all had a good cry. I fell asleep completely exhausted and she helped my partner come to terms with what just happened. I whole heartedly would not hesitate to recommend Chloë as a Doula, I couldn’t think of a better person to support a woman through one of the most important moments of her life! She is so caring and thoughtful, and most importantly totally in tune with peoples emotions.
After having a traumatic birth with my first son, I knew this time around I would need all the support I could to make it a positive one. Very soon after meeting Chloë I knew I could trust her & felt completely at ease sharing feelings & intimate details with her. She understood my needs both during pregnancy and following the birth, helping me feel reassured and validated. Her knowledge and understanding of birth helped give me confidence in my own body’s abilities and preferences, and helped me achieve the VBAC I was so desperate for. Because of COVID she couldn’t attend the actual birth but I’ve no doubt she would be a soothing and supportive birthing partner. I am so grateful to have met Chloë, she truly went above and beyond to help me and feel like I’ve gained a valuable friendship too!
Chloë came to help me at nights when I was in need of some extra support following a bit of a bumpy birth. I (& my daughter) liked her hugely from the moment she walked through the door. Chloë is calm, thoughtful, kind & a lovely person to have in the house & helping at such a precious stage of a newborns life. Nothing is too much trouble for her to do & Chloë was amazing at fitting in “jobs” whilst not with my daughter (e.g. when I was feeding). We miss her! Both Nell & I would 100% recommend Chloë.
Chloe is an amazing doula, knowledgeable, with a warm and positive energy. I learnt a lot of things and the most important one was the amazing capacity of our bodies, it was mind blowing. I went from frightened to feeling very empowered because of her. I had a traumatic C-section with my son and I’m also a single mum and was frightened to be on my own trying for a VBAC this time. She helped me to feel confident that I could do it. And I did. It was painful giving birth naturally but was the best experience ever. She was with me all the time during appointments and birth; helping me to relax, focus and remind me and the staff there about my wishes, I could have never done it on my own. She also supported my breastfeeding experience after birth as I never did it with my son. Even with all negativity some doctors had, I did it. I cannot thank her enough, she is an angel. Thank you very much xx
