About Me
My name is Claire Vaccaro and I qualified as a postnatal doula in 2021. Since starting my own family, I have realised the value that a warm and helpful face can bring in the early postnatal period. Everyone’s journey is different and it doesn’t always work out the way we had planned. A doula can provide emotional support at a very vulnerable time, while also providing some practical help to ensure the smoothest transition for your family. For me, the most important aspect of being a doula is providing that safe space where someone can ask for help that they may find difficult to ask of family & friends.
I like to provide my clients with a flexibility as to what services they may need from me. The best way to do this is by completing a postnatal planning session antenatally, to identify the families priorities and work together to create the postnatal period that is best for them.
Since completing my doula training, I have further extended my offering by completing NLP recognised training in the 3 step rewind technique. This technique is targeted to reduce feelings of trauma associated with difficult life events. I am passionate about the impact a difficult birth or pregnancy loss can have on families. This therapy is therefore a way of giving back some control to those affected, when it can often feel like a very disempowering time. I therefore offer this as a combined service with a birth debrief, if desired.
I also have a keen interest in nutrition and how this can be so powerful in a birthing persons physical recovery, feeding journey and overall wellbeing. I like to work with clients to provide information on the foods that can support their postnatal journey. If desired, I can also share meal plans and cook nutritional recipes for families in their home.
