I live in Tunbridge Wells I am a mum to Thomas and Molly . As soon as I married we were keen to have a family. As I had been born at home way back in 1968! I hoped to have a homebirth with Thomas but things didn’t work out that way as he was born nearly a month early, and although I was lucky enough to have a relatively straightforward birth I had him in hospital.Molly was born in 2001 and I decided to have a waterbirth with her at a birthing centre which was a much more calmer experience for everyone.
I found giving birth to both children an amazing experience and something I actually enjoyed. Since then I was lucky to witness the birth of my friends third baby, Alfie and it was this that confirmed for me my passion to be able to support a woman and her partner in labour.
As prepared as you can be for birth nobody knows what will actually happen throughout labour. I hope to be able to support and empower you to have a positive birth experience.I will stay with you throughout your labour until your baby is born. I am there to listen to you and your wishes and support you in these.
As a post natal doula I am there to listen, care and do the washing up !The first few months of having a newborn can be very overwhelming and tiring too. I hope to be able to support the whole family to make the experience of having a newborn in the house the joyful experience it should be.
