About Me
Hello, my name is Grace Collins, I am a birth and postnatal doula and a hypnobirthing instructor.I speak fluent Arabic and some French and love supporting mothers to have a positive birth and to care for their babies. I live in north Reading, with my husband, two children, cats and dog. I trained with Nurturing Birth in 2012
My two births were very different. I had an emergency c-section with my first and a VBAC with my second. The way my first birth unfolded made me question so many things about my own beliefs about birth, and my body’s ability to birth my baby. Thankfully I was able to achieve a VBAC second time around, with the support and guidance of my doula.
Bringing a new life into the world is an incredible journey – unique to each woman and family. I will walk with you supporting you in every way possible. I strive the guidance you need and personalized services in order to make your birthing experience as positive as possible. You can rest assured that you’ll be in the best of hands. I will stay with you in labour from the time you want me to until you and baby are settled and baby has had a good feed.
I offer antenatal, birth and postnatal support and hypobirthing preparation.
Antenatally, I can support you to feel better prepared for the birth of your baby by being there to listen to you, discuss with you your choices and help you feel relaxed and more confident in your abilities to birth your baby. Together we can prepare your birth preferences document and I am always happy to sign post you to evidence based information to support your birth choices.
For birth support we may meet two or three times before the birth. Together we will talk through anything that is worrying you regarding birth. We will talk about birth preferences and work on preparing a birth plan. My aim is always be to support you to feel informed, and empowered during your journey to birth. I will be on call from two weeks before the estimated due date until the baby is born. Please get in touch if you would like more details.
Postnatally, I help you transition to motherhood or a bigger family smoothly. I am there to help you with caring for your baby and yourself, and I am always happy to help around the house and do some light cooking if needed. I am also there to listen and support you with infant feeding issues and can help you with baby wearing if you would like to wear your baby in a sling.
KG Hypnobrithing support – One to one or in a group setting.
