I’ll be on maternity leave from mid-May and am unable to offer birth packages to clients due after 30th April 2024. If you’re interested in me “training you up” on best practice and how to achieve a minimal intervention empowered birth, please send me a message.
Hi, my name is Imani and I specialise in supporting Black women and mothers from all backgrounds who plan to birth their babies with minimal intervention. I’m guided by your needs and the belief that birth is natural, healthy, and not to be feared. With calm and gentle birthing techniques, and an emphasis on relational continuity of care, I provide evidence- and intuition-based support that respects your autonomy and prioritises your emotional wellbeing.
I work with you to build the skills and confidence to birth free of unnecessary interventions that can move the experience out of your control and into the realm of over-medicalisation. I trust that your body knows what to do and does it best when you feel safe. My job is to protect your space by keeping it calm, comfortable, and conducive to your preferences.
Together, we’ll co-create an empowered, healing, and unforgettable birth journey on your terms.
Think of me as grandma, calm sister, and comforting best friend rolled into one. I love celebrating motherhood and can hold space like your favourite therapist does.
Your positive birth is invaluable. In order to facilitate this, my birth packages start at £1,800 (monthly payment options are available). Birth-only support starts at £799.
A little more about me
Raised in a house of Black and Indigenous healers, I draw from several years of birthing support experience and gender justice work. I recognise your innate power as a parent and understand the importance of considering your cultural, religious, gender and sexual preferences by default and not as afterthoughts. I love the richness of diversity and will, no doubt, enjoy immersing myself in the practices of your community.
I’m based in Brixton and am happy to travel within London, due to the great transport links. I love learning, working with nature, and cultivating connections. I’m not currently accepting clients due after late-April 2024.
If you think I may be the right doula for you, please don’t hesitate to get in touch. To learn more, or to view my qualifications, please visit my website www.londondoula.co.uk
