About Me
I have always been interested in the wonders of pregnancy, birth and newborns. I am a naturally nurturing person and wish to make the time with you as restful and relaxing as possible to ensure you’re recharged. I will support you, and any members of your family to gain confidence with your newborn or be there for your older children whilst you have a rest or break. From light housework to prepping light meals to just being there to chat if you wish.
I can help you feel happy and safe as becoming a new parent can be overwhelming with the impact a newborn can have on one’s life. As new mothers we will have different and varied support needs, I can be flexible to suit round your requirements.
I love newborns and babies and in my role of Doulaing, I aim to help new families on their journey and enjoy those first few weeks which can often be quite stressful, tiring and unsettling. I am a good listener and will reassure you in understanding that your way is through your own informed choices. I will support you emotionally as you gather strength through those early days and be a steady companion.
My husband and I have 3 grown up children, 27, 26 and 24.
My first birth was medical intervention which I believe lengthened my labour so with my subsequent two births I was more in control, with more researched knowledge and fortunately with my mother being more present (as befitting a doula role) which attributed to both being within 2 hours and I now realise how I became so much more relaxed. I aim to be able to support the same for you.
Those formative years are so important for all concerned and I really adored every moment with my two boys and daughter as they were growing up and making life fun, whatever was happening around us and still love being around them now when they are at home.
Update: They are back home in lockdown having left London over 12 months ago.
I am also a keen photographer and photographed many newborns. I like all sports, yoga, running, current affairs, animals, gardening and films. I am now living on the Hampshire/Surrey/West Sussex borders so easily accessible to many areas.

Testimonials
Birth Doula: I warmed to Katy straight away. She’s a good listener and was sensitive to my needs and my family at all times. She was an amazing support throughout my birth, keeping me calm, helping with hypnobirthing and being right by my side for anything I needed. She was fantastic in helping me feel comfortable and assisting the midwife. She was sensitive to my husband and allowed us enough space, whilst also being there supporting me. (Georgie, Hampshire, Mum of three)
Katy started helping me when my third baby was 3 weeks old. I’d heard from friends how helpful doulas can be especially juggling a third baby with two school aged children. Katy was very easy going and flexible from the outset. She always arrived on time and was able to cope with my schedule and rearranged things in order to get over to help when I needed her. She was very easy to have around and helped with settling my baby for naps, preparing meals for the family, tidying up and (most importantly!) making sure I got enough rest and enough to eat and drink. She was very thoughtful and made me fresh ginger tea and healthy snacks. As well as being great company for me, she was very calm and caring with my baby and was also great with my older children too. She continues to babysit for us. I would recommend Katy to new mums without hesitation. She helped at a family party and even made my middle son an amazing birthday cake! She is amazingly practical, down to earth and easy to have around. (Sarah, Mum of 3, Farnham)

We couldn’t have dreamed of a better post-natal doula than Katy! She is professional, easy to talk to and made me feel like I had family over to help. Two weeks after a C-Section and with my husband being away, I needed support at home so I could be the best mother I could while also getting some rest in the evening, and Katy provided all this and more. She fit right in with our family from the start. She was calm, gentle and very caring and didn’t hesitate to help with the housework and both my children’s care. She always gave me the extra help I didn’t know I needed, from making sure I drank enough to teaching how to do puzzles with my 2 year old son, who absolutely adored her and even called her “my Katy”. I was entirely confident in leaving both him and his little brother in her care whilst going to have a shower and a rest and I was looking forward to her visit each day, knowing I would get exactly the help I needed. Overall, I found Katy to be the perfect match for us and I can say with the utmost confidence that she is going to make a huge difference in many a family’s life. (Chloé, Mum of 2, Liphook)

Katy was such a fantastic help as my post-natal doula. She was an immeasurable support right from the beginning following the birth of our daughter. I hadn’t quite realised just how challenging it would be with a newborn following a C-Section. Katy was entirely flexible despite other underlying issues at the same time and bent over backwards to accommodate my husband and myself to make us as comfortable and stress free as possible.
It wasn’t just the physical support (getting stuck in with nappy changes, bathing and feeding my newborn to give me valuable breaks) but also the emotional support she gave which really helped me as I suffer from general anxiety. She enabled me to explore my feelings and supported me through my concerns and doubts.
She helped me navigate through the wonderful journey of having a newborn. In particular, her support on breast-feeding and the issues I was experiencing with my daughter’s double tongue tie and colic were invaluable. My daughter adores her and I really looked forward to that much needed time off when she visited, to allow me to refocus my energy on being the best mum possible. I couldn’t recommend Katy enough – she was such a joy to have in our family. (Victoria, Mum of one, Cobham)
