Hello, I’m Laura. First of all – congratulations on your pregnancy, and I hope you are enjoying this exciting time in your life! (But don’t worry if you’re not loving every second – it’s hard being pregnant!)
I would love to help you on your birthing journey using the knowledge and experience I’ve gained over the last 6 years of parenting and becoming a Mentored Birthbliss Birth Doula.
Having gone through three very different pregnancies, births and postnatal periods myself, I am passionate about the incredible miracle that is growing and birthing a baby, and I want to support you to achieve contentment in your birthing experience. Setting you up for the best possible start to your life together.
I have no agenda and no judgment about your decisions as a parent. I want you to do what feels right for you every step of the way, from advocating for yourself during your pregnancy, making informed, evidenced-based choices at your birth, to owning your parenting decisions.
Friends and family describe me as caring, loyal, and empathetic, slightly messy, (sometimes) annoyingly organised, and definitely always thinking about food!
I worked for British Tennis and then Marie Curie before having my three boys. They are 5, 4, and 1, and I love being their mum, albeit I don’t always love the noise levels, the mess and the lack of sleep!
I’m a practical sort of person, I am very proud of the shed I built last year in my garden, I love to sit and do colouring with my kids and I am currently taking a lot of pleasure in improving my Parkrun stats.
I am also these things…
- ABM Breastfeeding Peer Supporter
- Deputy Coordinator for the NCT Sutton Epsom Branch
- A part-time Civil Servant working in the Home Office
- Supporting Epsom St Helier MVP with Social Media
- Birthrights trained
- Queerbox LGBTQ+ inclusive business trained
I offer antenatal and birth support across Surrey, north Sussex, Hampshire, and the south-west of London. This can be through in-person private classes, virtual sessions, or by booking one of my full ante-natal or birth packages. I am happy to tailor any support to suit you and your baby.
I would love to hear from you, so please get in touch if you’d like to ask any questions or chat through the support I can offer. I wish you the very best of luck and enjoyment in your journey as a parent.
A lovely client’s review:
The Calm In Our Storm
We used Laura to help us with our second birth and the lead up to it as we had felt powerless and out of control during the birth of our first son. Laura listened to our needs and came back to us with support and information in the lead up to the birth and then when my waters broke at 34 weeks and our son arrived at 35 weeks Laura adapted brilliantly to offer us the support we needed throughout the whole process. Both myself and my husband felt completely in control of the situation and empowered to make decisions that were the best for my health and the health of our son. I don’t know how we would have coped without Laura’s calming influence. I believe everyone should have the support of a doula for the birth process. Thank you for my family Laura. We really appreciate your resilience, calmness and ability to connect us with the information or people we needed at the time.
