About Me
Hi, My name is Liv. I live in Ashford, Surrey with my Husband and two
children and I am a Postnatal Doula.
Why am I a Doula?
I’ve had the privilege of working with many families and their children as an
NNEB Qualified Nursery Nurse, working as a Nanny and more recently as an
OFSTED Registered Childminder.
My career has evolved my approach in working holistically and individually
with each family meaning working with me means that you get the benefit of
25 years of professional experience guiding and supporting parents. I feel like
I’ve always been a Doula really.
In my work as a Hypnobirthing practitioner I get to start the relationship with
families even earlier. I really enjoy working with pregnant people and their
chosen pregnancy & birth companions, it is wonderful to see them beginning
their journey enriched with knowledge and information. We can always start
getting to know each other before you have your baby and plan your
postnatal period together.
What to expect from me as your Doula;
I will hold space for you to feel safe and create a trusting relationship between
us. I will help to nourish you emotionally and physically in your healing along
with listening and treating you with care. I will help you to build your
confidence and find an onward path that aligns with your own goals for
parenting your baby working with normal expectations and normalising
parenthood.
I can also help with baby care (which I absolutely LOVE, pass me all the
babies), I will help with light chores around the house and inline with
nourishment I am happy to cook. I actually love providing meals. If you
already have children I can help you gain some balance plus, I am a master
storyteller.
If this is sounding like working together would be beneficial then let’s have a
chat, I look forward to hearing from you.
A little more about me;
A lot of things have shaped my route to what i do now.
My love of babies from an early age (proclaiming at 8 that I was going to be a
Nanny), My years working in professional childcare roles, working with
parent’s and families, my pregnancies and positive birth experiences after
learning Hypnobirthing techniques and knowledge, working with expectant
parent’s so that they too have positive experiences and now being a parent.
In January 2021 I completed the Younique Postnatal Doula course. I found
the training invaluable in bringing together my wealth of acquired skills and
qualifications and I am now excited about supporting new dynamics within
families and nurturing their changing environment.
I am open minded and compassionate with a big heart. I am really passionate
that people have access to informed choices and decisions that align with
them.
My passions and interests are my family, friendships, exploring museums, the
great outdoors, human psychology, the physiology of the human body,
learning ( see below), playing scrabble, listening to podcasts and music and
going to the cinema.
