Postnatal Planning - a set of 2 sessions taken 1:1 antenatally to talk through hopes and fears for your postnatal experience and parenthood. We discuss what to expect postnatally, emotionally and physically, for both parents and baby and then brainstorm ideas together on how to create the postnatal experience you want!
Hello, I’m Natalie, and I created Rest&Nest Postnatal in 2020 through a calling to support families transition into parenthood with peace, joy and confidence. I provide judgement free support for all women and birthing people, helping them in the early weeks and months of welcoming a baby through practical, emotional and informational support. My aim to help reduce the shock of new parenthood – whether it’s your first of fifth time – and become part of your 21st centrury village.
Alongside being a postnatal doula, I am also a mother to two energetic boys, born in 2015 and 2016, and a singing teacher – useful for all those soothing lullabies! I use my not-so-free time to volunteer as branch coordinator for my local NCT, where I work with a team of volunteers to provide services including breastfeeding drop ins, sling library, playgroups, walk and talks, nearly new sales, social events, pediatric first aid courses and so much more. I am also a member of my local Maternity Voices Partnership, championing the voices of women and birthing people in the development of the maternity units at Epsom and St Helier Hospitals.
I offer visits once or twice a week at your home during the day and evening visits can also be arranged. I also offer support via zoom or phone in between physical visits or as a package on it’s own.
I live in Epsom and travel within 30 minutes drive is included in my prices, but I will travel further at additional cost.

- Listening to your birth story.
- Talking through challenges such as feeding, sleeping, baby care, relationship changes, mindset struggles, sibling rivalry etc. If its bothering you, we can talk about it!

Unsure of what to expect from life with a newborn? Had a baby before but know you want things to be different this time? Had an amazing postnatal experience previously but now you’ve moved away from family and friends?
There are many reasons why you might to spend a bit of extra time planning now for your postnatal experience – you do not know how your birth will go, what kind of of parent you will be, how you will feel after birth – but what I can say for sure is you will need support, love and rest. Let’s work together to make a flexible and forgiving plan to make your postnatal experience the best it can be.
Package involves two 1:1 sessions of 90 minutes with me via zoom or in person. We will talk about normal infant behaviour, the birthing body and mind, your partner’s body and mind, how you feel about asking for help and brainstorm ideas on how to manage rest, recovery, food, household tasks, feeding and support circles. This can be taken any time 4-9m pregnant.
Am I the right postnatal doula for you?
The postnatal period is a magical yet vulnerable time in a parent’s journey, so it is really important that you like, trust and bond with your postnatal doula, and vice versa. Initial chats via phone or zoom are always free, and there is no obligation to book a service. Please get in touch if you’d like to talk!

“Natalie is entirely the sort of visitor you want in your home in the days after you’ve given birth. She was calm, quiet, supportive and so productive during her time with us. I remember we had a midwife visit and Natalie just fit around us, making us a nutritious lunch and filling our freezer with delicious home made food. We ate so well in the days that followed!
We don’t have family nearby so my husband had been very busy that week, ensuring baby and I had everything we could possibly need. Natalie’s visit meant that he could rest too and it took the pressure off him for a little while which made me happy.
Finally, Natalie was kind and a non- judgemental ear. You get a lot of advice as a new mother and very little is helpful. It’s a real skill that Natalie has to be able to listen and remain impartial whilst providing up to date, safe guidance when asked. She created a safe space for me to focus on what mattered: my bond with my new son.” – Alexandra, First Time Mum
“We had two postnatal planning sessions with Natalie which really helped us feel far more informed and prepared for life during and after the arrival of our first baby. So many things we hadn’t thought about at all were brought to our attention in a sensible and digestible way by Natalie and she had many suggestions for us with how to make life, particularly during the first few weeks and months after the birth, easier for us to manage. Extremely grateful to Natalie for her input and confidently looking forward to baby’s arrival now” – Helen and Tom, Expectant Parents
