About Me
My name is Zainab Walji. I am a mum of four. As the eldest child and grandchild, I was surrounded by my younger siblings and cousins. And as such grew up loving kids and even helping my aunts look after them at times.
My aim is to provide families with plenty of information regarding all aspects of pregnancy and birth, so they can make an informed decision, instead of being forced to choose something that does not work for them. And be a constant presence in whatever capacity they need. (Listening ear, information provider, hand holder etc…)
My Philosophy
Pregnancy and birth is a miracle, my goal is to help families feel it as well. This can be achieved first and foremost by listening, and I mean really LISTENING to your needs, your desires, and just being there for you emotionally and physically. I will not take the place of a midwife, as I will not offer advice (medical or otherwise). Instead, I will provide you with options so you can make a choice that is best suited for you. As a doula I will not only be there for you, I can also help your partner by providing them with the information they need so as to help you on your journey in the best possible way.
My role as your doula will be to listen to you and your partner, support you, offer you information if needed, and be there for you in any way you need and that I can.
My goal as a doula is to inform you of the different options available so you know your Choices and can make a more informed decision and gain Confidence in yourself and your choice. I aim to ensure your Comfort and be a reassuring presence. No matter what type of birth you choose, homebirth, hospital birth, water birth, etc… or if you choose to breastfeed or bottle-feed, I will be with you every step of the way. Providing you with relevant and reputable sources (if needed) for your choice. It is your birth, your choice, and I will support you at all times.
