9 – 15 October 2019
Baby Loss Awareness is an opportunity:
- For bereaved parents, and their families and friends, to unite with others across the world to commemorate their babies’ lives.
- To raise awareness about pregnancy and baby loss in the UK.
- To drive improvements in the bereavement care and support available for those affected.
Doula UK supports the charities leading Baby Loss Awareness Week who are committed to raising awareness of pregnancy and baby loss, providing support to anyone affected by pregnancy loss and the death of a baby, working with health professionals and services to improve bereavement care, and reducing preventable deaths.
Baby Loss Awareness Week culminates with the global Wave Of Light at 7pm local time on 15 October. Simply light a candle and leave it burning for at least 1 hour to remember all babies who have died too soon. If you would like to share a photo of your candle to Facebook, Twitter or Instagram use the hashtag #WaveOfLight.
