Find training, become a doula, and join Doula UK
Find A Doula with the relevant skills, training and experience to suit your needs. You can also find out if they are local, or work in your area or whether they offer virtual support. You can also search for doulas who speak another language and find doulas who have completed training in diversity and inclusivity or who specialise in a particular area.
Each Doula UK member must complete approved training, go through a rigorous mentoring and recognition process and comply with the Doula UK code of conduct, philosophy and our policies. Doulas also commit to continuing professional development and are recommended to have insurance. This ensures that the doulas are trained, up-to-date, experienced and well supported.

No, doulas support partners and fathers too! Some partners want to actively support the mother or birthing person and we can provide guidance on how you can do this. Other partners are fearful of birth, we are there to help dispel that fear. Knowledge is power so we will explain what is happening and why to you and your partner helping you both feel more informed, empowered and ready to journey together through pregnancy, birth and parenthood with your baby.
Doulas support all birth. Whether that be a home birth, hospital birth, midwife led birth, water birth or caesarean birth. Doulas are there to support you and your family.
A recent survey of members found that the majority of birth doulas charged between £1,000 - £1,499 although it was common for doulas to charge more. The majority of postnatal doulas charged between £20 and £25 an hour with some doulas charging less and some doulas charging more. Many doulas accept payment plans and offer additional flexibility.
If you are experiencing financial hardship and meet our eligibility you may qualify for support from the Access Fund. You will need to be referred by a healthcare professional.
Doula UK members are recommended to take out insurance to cover their work as a doula, but it is not a requirement. All Access Fund doulas are insured.
