About Me
My experience:
I am a Mother of six children. I support women through their journey from conception to postpartum. Over the last 14 years, in different capacities, I have enjoyed working with pregnant women and their families by way of Pregnancy groups, Pregnancy/Birth and Postnatal Support.
My passion for all things ‘birth related’ has informed my work and led me to also work with the Maternity Voices Partnership, helping to make improvements in midwifery services. I have been a member of La Leche League for a number of years who offer breastfeeding support worldwide.
I have recently completed the Continuum Doula Course which has added to my experiential knowledge, and has affirmed to me the importance of how beneficial having more one to one sessions during pregnancy and the post natal period can be.
Practically this will look like :
-Six meetings antenatally
-Being available during labour and birth
-One visit within the first 24 hours after birth
-Six meetings postnatally.
I do offer tailor made support to meet each family’s requirements.
My hope is to support you on your birthing journey by working with you and your family unit, however this looks and to assist in holding the space which you want to create in order to honour the sacredness of birth.
I have experience of communicating with professionals in an empathetic and assertive manner. Respecting all involved but making sure everyone’s voices are heard.
I have personal experience of Home Birth, Hypnobirthing, Elective Caesarian Birth, Lotus Birth, Home Vaginal Birth after Caesarian, Freebirth, Miscarriage and ectopic pregnancy.
I also offer a childbirth debriefing service too, I have recently undertaken a specialist counselling course supporting specifically within pregnancy and the postpartum period this was with Image Christian Counselling training.
My aim is to support you wherever you feel comfortable, at this important time .
