Sessions with me are 90 mins to 120 mins long (just like in person)
At this time of increased fear and anxiety investing in additional support for you, your partner and your baby during this precious time of transition is even more critical. The world seems to have gone crazy and you need to find really good strategies for connecting to your inner wisdom of your body as you prepare to birth your baby. We are communal animals and birth and child raising is done in communities. You understand the importance of birth as having a life long impact, for the mother, baby and the rest of the family. This impact is not just emotional, and spiritual but actually effects our long term physical health.
In our sessions we will cover:
- Hopes and Fears –
Everyone has different psychology and will need to address their particular set of thoughts and feelings about the birth of their baby. This session will be to explore how you really feel, giving you time and space to really connect. We will use powerful but simple IYS Therapy tools to release fears and connect into deep feeling of peace and calm.
Benefits: feel less stress fear and anxiety – feel more peaceful, grounded and calm
- Birth Physiology –
Understanding the power of your body and the birth process and how you and your chosen birth partner can really optimise the flow of birth hormones to create a safer and smoother labour and birth. Labour and birth physiology is the foundation for loving and deep connection between you and your baby and the family beyond.
Benefits – Learn amazing strategies for you and your partner to support the labour and birth process
- Physical Movement During Labour – Experience relaxation
We dont think our babies out of our bodies, labour and birth is a natural function of the body, and the body loves to move. Both the baby and the mother move during labour to optimise the baby’s natural spiral through the pelvis. In this session you will explore gentle movement to help you with labour and birth. These can be practised with a birth partner over the course of the pregnancy and during labour.
Benefit – regular practice of these will bring you more physical mobility and greater physical well-being. Help you connect you to the baby and your birth partner on a regular basis. feel more centred and in your heart.
- Navigating the System – birth rights birth choices
At this time more than ever in recent history maternity services are stretched and so having time to think and make some preferences and consider options is really important.
Benefit – feel empowered and confident to know what are your choices in terms of the care plan you have with your midwife and or doctor
- Meditation and Breath Work
Hypno-birthing/meditation/visualisation have become very popular in the last 10 years for childbirth and in this session we will explore working in a holistic way, mind & emotions, energy body, soul and physical body so you have all parts of self working in harmony for you and your baby. You will have recordings which are exactly for you to use for the rest of the pregnancy.
Benefit – The breath is the best tool for managing the sensations of labour and is totally free yet priceless.
- Soulful Birth
The birth of our babies is much much more than a physical process, it is a love inspired event, and as such many people come into a deeper understanding and experience of the profound miracle of life. Honouring the deep sanctity of welcome a new soul to earth is something that is a core value for me as a doula. I love to support my clients in this way, through whatever form feels good for you.
Benefit – feeling of deep peace, joy and connection as you welcome your baby.
- Infant Feeding
We will discuss how you would like to feed your baby and any fears or concerns you have around that. Debunking myths and creating a wonderful support plan for you getting the best start for you and your baby.
Benefit – feeling confident you have the best information and understand the common pitfalls with infant feeding – so you can make the right choices for you.
- Post-Natal Body-Wisdom
Its no co-incidence that you have a GP check at 8 weeks, all cultures around the world know it takes around 40 days or 6 to 8 weeks for the body to recover from pregnancy and birth. Traditionally we had many more social mechanisms and cultural understanding to support this normal process. Rest, nutritious food, more rest, massage and limited house work, and more rest. Are the key to a wonderful foundation for you and your family as you welcome your new baby.
Benefit – you will be able to make a plan for physical, mental emotional wellbeing
- Baby Sleep and Life with a New Born
I dont think I have had a client yet who hasnt been worried about infant sleep – however the ones who manage best are the ones who have the most realistic expectations. Understanding what is normal infant sleep and what is societies ideas of how a ‘good’ baby behaves can shift our awareness and understanding and allow for much more peace.
Benefit – feel more connected and attuned to the needs of your baby

Me and my doula journey
My interest in birth and doula-ing was sparked while I was living in Spain, I was so excited to be pregnant and read avidly about all things birth, babies, and mothering … this hasn’t stopped
After the birth of my daughter and my joy at being a parent. Finding my inner strength and intuition I inadvertently became a champion of breast feeding in the small (ish) community where we lived … I supported several friends, and friends of friends as they began their breast feeding journeys. Which was such an amazing privilege and pleasure. This is one of them:
Aimee was a great help during the toughest time in my life. First weeks of breasfeeding were very painful to me and I also realized it was not so easy to make sure that the latch was good! I have quite difficult nipples (quite flat) and I was almost losing hope that it would ever work for me and my little one. Aimee gave me strong support and shared her knowledge about breastfeeding. And most importantly she was almost virtually holding my hand and feeling my pain! Thank you Aimee! – ANNA
In May 2012, I trained to be a doula with Mother and Baby International, by the magic of webinar!
I learnt a lot working with two organisations in Gibraltar, BabySTEPPS , where I presented antenatal talks to pregnant couples preparing them for their births, I also was part of the Mummy and Me community which is a breast feeding support group. I also had close connection to the maternity department in Gibraltar. The women who I met who support families in the community through their work have been a tremendous inspiration to me.

During the summer 2012 I moved back to the UK and then was lucky enough to work with my first family with the birth of their 3rd son at home over Christmas. It was a beautiful home birth, in water, and it was everything I had learnt birth can be: peaceful, joyful, emotional and empowering. It was such an honour to be able to support the parents welcoming the new member of the family.
Aimee came and met us, she was very open and listened to our thoughts and concerns. She signposted us to relevant online articles, videos, groups and also provided books to read. During the labour Aimee was simply magnificent. She remained calm and collected throughout the process. She looked after both of us so well and was a reasonable, calm presence. She was a pillar of strength and support. Gloria, Josef and Jasmine
