My Approach
I blend a practical, research-informed approach with intuitive, heart-based support - with a good dose of homemade treats to nourish you along the way. I'll share the evidence-based information if you want it, while also being guided by the sacred elements that can't be neatly measured in the female body and birth.
As your Birth Doula, my role includes working through any fears or worries you have around your capacity to birth your baby and/or navigating the system.
I'm also here to help support you to meet your labour and birth experience with greater trust with the right tools and resources to hand. I support your partner to know what to do when, and to just be with you when you need them most.
I help tend to your environment and your needs through breath, touch, and movement to support your physiology and nervous system throughout your labour and birth.
And I prepare you for the ride - exploring what-if scenarios so you can make informed decisions as things unfold.
Because birth doesn't always read the plan, but it is shaped by your preferences, knowledge, preparation, support team, environment, and sense of trust and safety.
I have experience supporting all different types of birth - home, birth centre, hospital, caesarean - including first time births and VBAC.
About me
I was raised by a village in a little corner of Hackney by a circle of strong women - this feeling of being surrounded by a village to support you through this major life transition is what I help cultivate in my role as Birth & Postpartum Doula.
Before becoming a Doula, I spent 5+ years as a healthcare researcher in the NHS and US systems. I know how maternity care actually works - the policies, the pressures, the gaps.
But my path into birthwork came through my own journey of healing my cycle, getting back in touch with my inner compass, and training as a Breathwork Facilitator and Somatic Bodywork Practitioner. This led me to reorient my life towards what brings me joy - supporting women and babies to thrive.
I weave skills for building mind-body-breath-baby connection and nervous system resilience, safety and capacity into my approach.
Birthwork allows me to support the shift I want to see in the community that raised me: one where women can live in tune with their own rhythm and needs, where babies are birthed in love, and where mothers and babies are given the conditions to thrive, not just get through and survive. I believe this care is where we begin building a more communal, compassionate, and caring world. Part of your fee also supports me to provide my services to those who would not usually be able to access a Doula.
So I bring both: the system knowledge and the embodied, holistic care. I can help you understand your choices and advocate for yourself, while staying connected to your body and what it's telling you.
I also provide Postpartum Doula support, helping you navigate the tender early days with your newborn - from preparing homecooked meals and supporting your nervous system to rest and recover, to offering evidence-based information and holistic support to strengthen the mother/parent-baby bond, and soften into the new family constellation.
