About Me
“Alice has a great personality, knowledge, and empathy. She has been so helpful, she became like family to me.”
“I had a traumatic first experience in the past. I was very anxious about my second pregnancy because of that. I need emotional and motivational support. Alice is very kind, understanding, supportive and friendly. She provided me with all the information I needed. She reassured me that everything was going to be fine with me and my baby.”
Firstly congratulations on your pregnancy!
Hello, my name is Alice. I’ve been passionate about birth work for as long as I can remember. I have a degree in Biology, and my studies have given me a deep appreciation for the intricate processes of life, especially during pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period.
After completing my degree, I volunteered at Hackney Children and Baby Bank, where I witnessed firsthand the challenges that many families face when it comes to providing for their newborns. My experience there inspired me to become a doula, and I completed my training and certification.
My role as a doula is to provide emotional, physical, and informational support to families during this transformative time. I’m committed to helping families feel empowered and supported throughout their birth journey, no matter what kind of birth they have.
Since my becoming a registered doula I have supported families through birth and the postnatal period. This includes supporting several women who don’t have a partner and have very little support. I believe everyone has the right to an empowering birth no matter what their preferences, I support women to make choices that are right for them and their families. I’ve had the pleasure of supporting women through different kinds of birth from physiological birth through to a planned c-section.
I also have experience working with Shout, a mental health crisis charity. This has given me a deep understanding of the importance of mental health support during and after pregnancy. I work closely with families to ensure that their emotional and mental health needs are met. I big part of this is planning for the postnatal period.
Outside of my doula practice, I enjoy spending time outside, doing yoga, cold water swimming, and cooking.
I’m excited to be a part of such an important and meaningful time. I’m nurturing, dynamic and objective in my dedication to providing compassionate care for families.
If you’re interested in learning more about doula care or if you’re looking for a doula to support you during your birth journey, I’d be honoured to speak with you.
