My name is Alina, and I am a birth and postnatal doula based in London. Originally from Moscow, I moved to the UK in 2011. Both of my children were born in London—one at the Birth Centre of Queen Charlotte’s and Chelsea Hospital, and the other at St George’s Hospital.
Motherhood has been a deeply transformative journey for me. Thanks to my husband’s support, I was able to dedicate myself fully to my pregnancies and the early years of my children’s lives, ensuring they had the best possible start. Giving birth was a life-changing experience—I wished for a physiological birth without medical interventions, and through knowledge, preparation, and trust in my body, I was able to achieve that. I used acupressure, breathing techniques, movement, and visualization to manage contractions.
After these empowering birth experiences, I felt a strong calling to support other women on their own journeys. My breastfeeding experience was also positive—I nursed my children for 14 and 22 months, and I deeply believe that breastfeeding is a natural and beautiful process that can be enjoyable for both mother and baby.
When I first learned about doulas, I knew immediately that this was my path. In 2017, I completed the Birth Bliss Aspiring Doula Course with Kicki Hansard, gaining a solid foundation in birth, postnatal care, and breastfeeding support. Since then, I have continued expanding my skills through ongoing training, research, and hands-on experience.
