About Me
- I am one of 4 children, and I have 4 myself, so pregnancy, birth and beyond has pretty much always been a part of my life! I completed my Doula training in May 2016, and was lucky enough to attend a birth as a Doula before the course had even finished! All of my pregnancies, births and indeed children were different, and I began to educate myself about the choices and decisions that could be made.
The training course gave me a good grounding in how to use massage and accupressure, how aromatherapy and herbal remedies can be used to best effect, and how the support we as Doulas can offer can be invaulable and empowering for the people we work with.
I have experience of c-section births, natural births, VBAC, and breech presentation. As a Doula, I have attended home birth, vaginal breech birth, c-births, the use of a birthing pool, MLU and hospital births.
I volunteer at a local peer support group that provides pregnant and new mums with information and support in a friendly, respectful environment.
I am a breast feeding peer supporter.
I am trained in the 3 step Rewind technique which can be particularly useful for those who have previous experience of birth trauma.
I have a full, clean driving licence and am fully CRB checked.
