I’m Bea, a birth and postnatal doula based in Tunbridge Wells, where I live with my husband and two children.
I believe every woman deserves an empowering birth, a birth that makes them proud of their body and confident as a mother – to have a positive birth story whether that’s an elective caesarean or a drug free water birth at home, whether it goes to plan or not you can come away with memories to cherish if you are informed, heard and validated.
Those precious early days and weeks, the fourth trimester, are moments to be treasured – you need support to create and protect that newborn bubble, to ease the transition to new motherhood (the first, second, third or tenth time) and make the most of that special time.
I have completed hundreds of hours of postnatal doula work and attended multiple births. I am DBS checked, insured and trained in Family First Aid. Additional training including The Infant Feeding Academy Three Secrets to Supporting Breastfeeding workshop, BabyEm Identifying Tongue-tie in Infants masterclass, BabyEm supporting families whose babies experience symptoms of colic, reflux and infant allergies masterclass and SANDS Supporting families through pregnancy loss and the death of a baby workshop.
“Bea was only ever a WhatsApp away, I found her rational approach incredibly helpful. During the birth her support for both myself and my husband was immeasurable. She helped me to stay calm and feel in control, once in the birth centre my partner and Bea worked together to make it a relaxed environment. Having Bea on hand to bridge the conversations between the midwife and me and advocate for how I wanted the birth to go was brilliant. Postnatally Bea helped me to feel confident with breastfeeding, she gave us a break to catch up on some sleep as well as batch cooked – I would wholeheartedly recommend her as a doula.” — Hannah – First time Mum – Birth and postnatal doula
“I could not have given the emotional support to my partner that I was able to give without Bea. I can’t recommend her enough – she is an enabler, allowing you to be there for your partner and new baby” — Ryan – First time Dad – Birth and postnatal doula
“We are so grateful for all your support and help. You made a huge difference to the early days, taking the pressure off so we can enjoy both our children as much as possible. I cannot thank you enough and cannot express what it means to be able to breastfeed, I am so ecstatically happy and honestly could not have done this without you” — Hannah – Second time Mum – Postnatal doula
“Bea was an incredible support throughout my pregnancy and labour. She helped me to get into a mindset where I fully understood and believed in my bodies ability to give birth and gave me so much confidence. I went from being terrified of giving birth, to actually looking forward to the experience that awaited me. Forever grateful to have had her wise words, knowledge and belief in me throughout.” — Lynsey – First time Mum – Birth planning and remote birth support
“Bea has been so helpful through my second pregnancy. I have a better understanding of my first delivery and had given me peace of mind going to my second delivery and I had more faith in myself. Definitely recommend Bea” — Heather – Second time Mum- Birth debrief
“Talking through my concerns about a caesarean with Bea was really helpful, she talked me through points to consider including pros and cons and answered my specific questions thoroughly. I now feel much more confident putting a birth plan down in writing – thank you!” — Emily – First time Mum – Birth Planning
“My second pregnancy and labour was hugely traumatic leaving me with antenatal anxiety and ptsd throughout my third pregnancy. Bea listened, supported, advised and metaphorically held my hand through one of the darkest periods of my life. She used up to date medical research and provided me with all of my choices as I approached an induction with my third baby. I would recommend Doula Bea to any pregnant woman!” — Hannah – Third time Mum – Post-term pregnancy/ induction support
