Hi, I'm Cat, a recognised Postnatal Doula and Hypnobirthing Facilitator based in Guildford, Surrey and mum to 2 boys.
As your postnatal doula I will support, reassure and encourage you and your family in the early weeks and months after your baby is born as we work together as a team. I will be there with you to ease your transition into parenthood and help you to have a positive experience during this magical time as a new family; whether you are expecting your first or fifth baby. I provide practical, emotional, informational, flexible support on an ad hoc basis or regular weekly sessions. I am happy to support you with your newborn baby or even when your baby is a little older.

If you're still reading here (thank you!), I've written a little more information about me below:-
As a mother of two boys, I know just how busy a parent's life can be and understand the daily juggles we all face. I live in Guildford with my family and enjoy running, cycling, yoga, swimming and paddleboarding. I’m compassionate, empathetic, outgoing, caring, reliable, and cheerful with a positive mindset.
I have a thirst for knowledge about the postnatal period and haven't stopped reading and learning since I finished my initial training in 2020 with Developing Doulas. As your postnatal doula I will be there with you to ease your transition and help you to have a positive experience during this magical but often overwhelming time as a new family. I will support and encourage you and your family in the early weeks after your birth as we work together as a team. I will walk the journey with you and hold your hand until you no longer need me. I come with no advice or judgement. You are the expert of your baby. I can offer helpful suggestions based on years of experience with my own children and the many clients I've worked with along the way as well as all the training I have undertaken. I will hear you, be intuitive to your individual needs, reassure you and help you by providing practical and emotional support as well as provide you with evidence-based information as you adjust to your new life.
Every family and every baby is different and you have to find the right path for you. I will simply be there to hold your hand and help you navigate the twists and turns. The fourth trimester is a time for you to recover after birth, a time to get to know your new baby, bond, rest, recuperate, adjust to your new life and take time to breathe and be nurtured. You deserve to be supported throughout this time by someone who cares, listens and holds space for all you are going through. I will help with whatever you feel will be most beneficial and aim to leave you feeling rested and confident.
On my own journey into motherhood I learned the huge value of self-care and how just 5 minutes slots dotted throughout the day can do wonders and is critical in helping you enjoy this time with your little one. I will be able to provide practical tips and tricks to sneak these moments into your everyday life and establish a healthy and positive wellbeing routine.
My role as your doula covers many different aspects and the support you need will probably change from day to day. I will be totally flexible to your individual family needs and my focus will be on you. I can make you a hot drink and listen to your concerns or I can carry your baby whilst you have a sleep or a shower. I am happy to undertake light housework or look after older siblings whilst you rest or spend time with your baby. I can run errands or do your shopping. I can prepare simple meals and even take your dog for a walk; help you juggle the school run or provide support at busy mealtimes. It really depends where you need the support most and what your priority is on any given visit.
I trained with Developing Doulas in 2020 but prior to that had been supporting families with the Charity, Home Start for a year in a voluntary capacity. Whilst undertaking this work, I realised just how much new families need that little bit of extra help during those early weeks and beyond and this inspired me to explore the doula training course. I haven't looked back!
