I’m Cathie – a clinical hypnotherapist, hypnobirthing teacher and birth doula based in Liverpool. I specialise in supporting people who feel anxious about birth, are planning a C-section, or are carrying previous trauma or difficult experiences. I also support those who simply want a more positive, calm and informed experience this time around.
What makes my support a little different is that I bring a therapeutic, holistic approach to doula-ing. That means I'm not just by your side during labour – I also help you work through fear, build confidence, and feel more emotionally ready. I use clinical hypnotherapy, breathing techniques, relaxation tools and fear-release work to help you feel grounded and calm, no matter how your baby arrives.

If you feel nervous, scared, or unsure – I completely understand. We’ll spend time gently exploring those feelings and using tools like hypnosis, guided visualisations and simple mindset techniques to help you let go of the fear and start building trust in your body, your voice and your choices.
Hypnobirthing With a Real-World Twist
My approach to hypnobirthing is calm, flexible and no-nonsense. I’ll teach you (and your partner, if you have one) practical techniques you can use anywhere – from a water birth to a planned C-section. These include breathing tools, focus techniques, gentle touch and anchors to help you feel safe and in control.
C-Section & Gentle Caesarean Support
C-sections can be beautiful, calm and connected. Whether it’s your first or not, I’ll support you to feel more in control and emotionally prepared for the experience. I’ll help you plan a birth that still feels yours – with gentle touches, music, breathing, and time to bond.
Birth Plan Support & Advocacy
We’ll talk through your preferences and write a birth plan that feels like you. I’ll help you explore your options, know what to expect, and feel more confident speaking up – while also supporting you if plans change on the day.
Calm, Consistent Support
I offer ongoing support throughout your pregnancy and birth – whether that’s in person or on the phone when you’re having a wobble. My presence is warm, calm, and grounded – I’ll be the one gently holding space when things feel big.

Those early weeks can feel overwhelming, emotional, and all a bit much – especially when the visitors go home and the dust settles. I’m here to be a steady, gentle presence in that in-between bit where everything feels new.
I’m Cathie – a postnatal doula, clinical hypnotherapist and mum who gets how hard it can be to find your feet. I support families in Liverpool and nearby areas with calm, non-judgemental, emotional and practical care – whether your baby’s brand new or a few months old.
There’s no pressure, no “shoulds” – just someone by your side who’ll listen, support you, and make sure you’re okay too.

Space to Process Your Birth
Whether your birth was wonderful, difficult or somewhere in between, I offer a kind, listening ear – and if you need deeper support, I can guide you through gentle hypnotherapy techniques to help you process what happened and move forward with peace of mind.
Hypnotherapy for Rest, Anxiety & Confidence
I offer relaxation sessions and calming tools for new parents who are feeling anxious, overwhelmed or not sleeping well. These can include recorded tracks to use at home, body scans, gentle meditations and visualisations to help you feel more calm and settled.
Practical Support (That’s Actually Helpful)
Need the baby holding while you shower? Someone to talk things through with at 9am after a long night? A bit of help getting into a rhythm? I’ll do all of that – and make you a cup of tea. I’m happy to help with feeding support, sibling care, gentle structure, or just being a quiet, calm presence in your home.
C-Section Recovery Support
Recovering from a caesarean takes time – physically and emotionally. I’ll support you to rest, heal, and adjust gently to life post-op, with no pressure. I can guide you through gentle movement, calming techniques, and body-based healing practices tailored to your needs.
A Judgment-Free Zone
Whether you’re exclusively breastfeeding, combo feeding, bottle feeding, co-sleeping or figuring it out hour by hour – I’m here to support you, not an ideal. I’ll be by your side, helping you feel confident, heard and reassured.
