About Me
Hello, and thanks for clicking through into my profile. Firstly – a huge congratulations on your pregnancy. I hope you’re feeling well and excited… and know that might come with a bit of uncertainty and anxiety too.It’s great that you’re looking at doula support. While no-one can promise you which path your birth will follow, I can promise you this: having someone to rely on, that you trust and who trusts you, who will listen to you, and encourage you to consider all your options, in a really personal and connected way…. all that really increases your chances of being well-prepared and confident for the birth that is right for you on the day.
I could be the right doula for you if;
- you’re interested in the practicalities of planning and navigating your birth
- you’re up for some brilliant hypnobirthing coping strategies
- you’re looking for support and sign-posting while you do all the pregnancy preparation for birth
- you want credible, up-to-date information and resources
- you want to consider your preconceptions, expectations, aspirations and anxieties so your plans are realistic and completely appropriate for you.
If you invite me to your birth I will be present to reassure and support. This looks different for every woman, and sometimes I’m up close and applying pressure to your sacrum and cool flannels to your neck and forehead. Other times I’m sitting quietly in the corner while you disappear into your birth to collect your baby. I can’t speak on your behalf, but I’ll be there to make sure you’re given all the information and time you need, if you need to make decisions.
I hate to talk about ‘packages’ because realistically the support I offer to you will be unique to you, but loosely these are the ways I can support you;
Birth planning sessions
Hypnobirthing
Pocket doula support
Birth doula suport
Postnatal support
Testimonials
“There’s no way I’d have another baby without checking Charlie’s diary is free”
“Honestly we would have been lost without you. Our gorgeous rock that sat by when needed, never asked, then stepped up to be incredible support”
“This has re-set the bar for the rest of my life.”
“Charlie’s support went way above and beyond. We are so grateful that she was part of our special journey.”
“What I really liked was that Charlie is realistic about birth and that you may need pain relief of intervention, but that does not mean it’s not a Good Birth”
“I just wanted to say that I really enjoyed your session this evening. Very inspiring and now I’m actually looking forward to giving birth again”
“Charlie helped us navigate what was, after a traumatic first birth, something that had both dreaded. With her guidance we felt in control, safe and heard. There was no ‘woo’ in sight. The advice was practical and collaborative”
“Our little boy is a week old already. I feel like I’ve been on a huge high. It’s been a big blur and a bit of a whirlwind, but each day I just think how great the birth was. I’d never have believed I would say that about giving birth if you’d asked me at the start of my pregnancy. Thanks again for all your support and encouragement throughout. It made the world of difference to us”
