About Me
Hello! I’m Claire, an antenatal and postnatal doula, living in Tring, Hertfordshire with my husband and two young daughters. Congratulations on your pregnancy, or if you are a parent already, congratulations on your new baby! Pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period are among the most precious and special moments we are gifted to experience as human beings and as a doula it is a privilege to play a small part in your unique and personal journey. I am here to provide you with practical and emotional support, offering you gentle encouragement and guidance in finding your own path on this life changing journey. I will help you to have confidence in trusting your own instincts and support you without judgement in making the right choices for you and your family. It is my goal to gift you more time and energy to bond with and enjoy your pregnancy and your baby. Parenthood is one of the most amazing and rewarding experiences, but it can also be exhausting, overwhelming and at times, lonely. Something I have only come to realise since becoming a parent myself. Our youngest daughter was born prematurely, at just 30 weeks and spent her first two months of life in hospital. It was a challenging and life changing experience. I was lucky to have some amazing support, but in hindsight I realise that navigating life with two under two, including a premature baby was tough. Tougher than it needed to be. In hindsight, we should have hired a postnatal doula, but isn’t hindsight a wonderful thing! I am grateful for my experience though as it became my own inspiration for becoming a doula. My motivation to support you is fueled by my passion of knowing and understanding the benefits of providing personalised care and support, when you need it most. It is important to remember that when a baby is born, a parent is also born and that you too need care, love and support and that with this, you can thrive! You can find out a little more about the services I offer below, but please do get in touch to find out more – I’d love to chat to you! Love, Claire x Doula Services – Everyone’s experience of pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period is different and everyone’s hopes, fears and wishes are unique. I offer a range of personalised services and together we will tailor these to your own unique needs and together we will work out the most effective way to support you and your new family. Antenatal Doula Services: As your antenatal doula, I will be there to empower, guide and support you throughout your pregnancy. I am here to help make sure that you feel confident and prepared for your birth and feel well supported in your choices. I will offer encouragement and support, helping you alleviate any anxieties so that you are able to relax and enjoy your pregnancy. Postnatal Doula Services: As your postnatal doula, I will be there to guide and support you emotionally and practically, without judgement as you begin your journey into motherhood. I am there to offer encouragement and support, enabling you to have an enjoyable and positive postnatal experience and one that allows you time and energy to bond with your baby, to heal, to process your experience and to thrive in your transition to motherhood. Doula Support for Parents of Premature / NICU Babies For most people, having their baby admitted to NICU is not how they expected their birth experience to turn out and it’s not something they were prepared for. It can be a frightening, lonely and overwhelming experience – one I know only too well following the arrival of our youngest daughter, at just 30 weeks. As your doula, I will be there to guide and support you emotionally, practically and informationally, as you navigate the challenges and stresses of a NICU journey. I can offer support during your hospital stay and also once your baby is home, drawing on my own experiences as a preemie parent. The doctors and nurses are there to care for your baby, it is my job to care for you and your family. Overnight Support: As your night doula, I am there to ensure you get some much-needed sleep! Sleep is so important for your postnatal recovery and can make a huge difference to how you are feeling and to your overall emotional and mental health. I will listen carefully to your needs and together we will work out the most beneficial way for me to support you at night.
