Diana Ward

Mentored Birth Doula

Hi, I’m Diana, a birth and postnatal doula based in Rugby, Warwickshire. I offer calm, grounded support through pregnancy, birth, and the early weeks of parenting. I became a doula because I believe when mums feel truly supported, they find more confidence, more connection, and more trust in themselves and their babies.

"I am incredibly grateful for the support I received from Diana throughout my pregnancy and birth experience. From the very beginning, she was knowledgeable, calm, and deeply reassuring. She took the time to explain every stage of pregnancy and birth in a way that was easy to understand, which helped me feel confident and prepared instead of anxious. She answered all my queries very well and also she explained them to me which really helped me in preparing myself for my pregnancy.

During my pregnancy, her advice was invaluable. She offered emotional support that truly made a difference in how I cared for myself and approached my birth. Whenever I had questions or doubts, she was always available, patient, and encouraging.

I truly believe my positive birth experience was possible because of her support and guidance. Her advices helped me in taking the right judgement for my delivery method.

I would highly recommend her to any expectant parent as she is compassionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated . She is not only highly skilled at what she does, but she genuinely cares, and that shows in every aspect of her work."

Birth doesn’t have to feel uncertain. It can feel calm and completely yours

Birth is more than just a moment, it’s a powerful, personal experience that deserves time, space, and care. Imagine stepping into labour already trusting your body, your choices, and the people around you so the only thing left to do is meet your baby.

My support is intuitive and evidence-based, rooted in emotional safety, body autonomy, and the belief that you already carry deep wisdom within you. I’m here to walk with you, reflect things back, and hold space for the big stuff so you can stay connected to your intuition, your baby, and your power. Mama's I work with often say they feel lighter, more ready, more like themselves after our sessions.

I also support partners in finding their rhythm in the birth space, whether that’s holding your hand, breathing with you, or simply being present. When partners feel confident, it creates more safety and connection for everyone.

My clients have said:
“I made every decision with confidence.”
“My partner and I felt like a team.”
“I still think about how powerful I felt that day.”

My support is for mums who:

  • Want a birth that aligns with their values
  • Are ready to be active decision-makers
  • Need space to prepare, feel heard, and stay rooted in their intuition
  • Want their partner to feel involved and supported, too

This is about more than having a “good birth"; it’s about starting parenting from a place of deep trust and connection.

Birth is the beginning of your baby’s story.

Full Birth & Early Postnatal Support

This package is for you if you do not just want someone to show up on the day of birth. You want a steady, calm presence through the whole arc of this season. Someone who understands your hopes, your history, and your nervous system, and walks it with you.

This package includes:

Antenatal support that goes deeper than information
Three antenatal sessions (in person locally or online) where we:

  • Explore your hopes, fears and previous experiences
  • Talk through how your body gives birth and what supports physiological birth
  • Look at your options within the system so you can make decisions that feel informed and grounded
  • Spend one session on the parental brain and bonding, so you understand what is happening in your brain and nervous system and how to support connection with your baby from the start

Birth partner session
A dedicated session for your partner so they:

  • Understand what labour may look and sound like from the outside
  • Know how to support you practically and emotionally
  • Have simple language to use with staff when they need to slow things down, ask questions or hold a boundary

Pre appointment prep calls
Up to two short calls before big appointments, for example VBAC clinic, induction talk or consultant reviews, to:

  • Clarify what you want from the appointment
  • Shape questions you might want to ask
  • Practice how to say things in a way that feels possible for you

Postpartum and New-born Support

2 antenatal sessions (2 hours each): We’ll chat about your needs, hopes, and how I can offer the best support during your postpartum journey. Together, we’ll create a personalized plan that fits your family’s unique needs and helps you feel confident and cared for.

Postnatal home visits: The number of visits is subject to your needs. Each visit lasts around 2 to 3 hours. During these visits I support you in the following ways:
