I am a mother of three wonderful children, born 2008, 2010 and 2019.I moved to the UK in 2009 from Israel. I myself had three natural births the third was a planned home birth. I believe and respect that each woman has the birth that is right for her. I was very fortunate to know early on in my teens what is my calling in life , and that is to support pregnant women with their births and motherhood. I studied for a BA in nursing for four years in Israel finishing with honours and started working as a nurse in a high risk pregnancy unit . At the same time I continued my studies for a MA in nursing and became a midwife in 2007.
After moving to the UK I was devastated to learn that due to bureaucracy I would not be able to practice as a midwife in this country. I decided to become a doula which will fulfil my calling in supporting women in childbirth. Even as a midwife I saw the support of the labouring woman as being the most important part of being in the delivery room, and this is what I also do in my practice as a doula . I provides much needed support physical and emotional both to the birthing women and their partner before during and after the birth in the postnatal period. Since becoming a doula I continued my professional development with different courses and workshops. I supported women in different hospitals as well as at home, and in many situations like induction, older mums, VBAC, GD and more.
I believe that each woman is unique as well as her baby and birth. Each woman wishes for herself a birth that is right for her, her partner and their baby. I would like to help you to achieve this! I believe that women have great strength in them. Your body knows how to give birth and your baby knows how to be born. It is your birth and my aim is to provide you with a warm , protective and safe environment where you can be yourself and birth as you wish and become empowered.
I would love to meet you for an initial meeting (no charge) to get to know each other. I feel it is very important for you to choose a doula you feel most comfortable with. If you decide to choose me as your doula we would meet at least twice before the birth to talk about your wishes and provide you with information so that you can make informed decisions. I would be available by phone or email throughout and I would be on call for you from 38 weeks 24/7. I would accompany you throughout your labour and stay with you until after you have given birth ,you are settled and your baby has fed. I would visit you at least once after the birth.
I teach a Hypnobirthing birth preparation course The Wise Hippo and can provide this service as well to help you stay even more calm and relaxed throughout your labour.
As a postnatal doula I can help with breastfeeding support and the early care of babies which at times can be daunting. I would help you get the rest you need and care for the little things that may make you restless. I would be there to look after you so you can focus on what you do best - be the mum and recover.
Breastfeeding Consultant
I can teach you prior to birth important key factors to support you and help you understands the natural behaviour of a breastfed baby . I can help you establish and sustain your breastfeeding relationship with your baby.
Night Nanny
During the night, I'm happy to cover the feeds, changing and settling of your baby so you can catch up on a much needed sleep. If you are breastfeeding I will bring the baby to you for the feed, and then I would settle the baby so your sleep is disturbed as little as possible. If you wish,I can give the baby expressed milk so you can have a more undisturbed sleep.
