I came to this work following the birth of my second child, after years of wanting to make the transition after my first. My own experiences, alongside those of other new mothers, made me realise how much postpartum outcomes heavily rely on being prepared, informed, supported and heard in the maternity system.
Research shows that doula support is linked to shorter labours, fewer interventions, and more positive birth experiences. When a little extra support can make such a big difference - for you, your baby, and your whole family. What's not to love?
Entering into parenthood is a profound experience that can reshape a person's identity, involving a spiritual awakening to new levels of love, vulnerability, and purpose, and so as a new parent you really do DESERVE to be cared for.
I seek to empower you through evidence-based, data-driven antenatal care that honors the natural physiology of pregnancy and childbirth. Blending the best of modern science with a deep respect for the body’s innate wisdom and ancient traditions, ensuring that every parent feels informed, supported, and confident throughout their journey to birth, during birth and during the postpartum period.
ANTENATAL SUPPORT
I am on hand to support you virtually, via your preferred means of communication, leading up to your birth. Our one-to-one antenatal sessions are where we get to know each other and explore everything about pregnancy, birth and postpartum together to ensure you feel prepared for each stage no matter what enfolds. We deep dive into birth preparation and supportive measures that guide your body and baby leading up to and during labour. You and your birth partner will be armed with the right tools to navigate the maternity landscape and birth well together during the early stages of labour.
BIRTH SUPPORT
In the early stages of labour I provide emotional support and guidance virtually. When active labour approaches, I come to you at your chosen place of birth. There, I will be on hand to provide physical and emotional support to you and your birth partner when you need it most. I help communicate your preferences to medical staff and encourage you to ask questions and express your needs. I help handle any logistics, allowing birthing partners to focus on you.
I guide you in how to move and position your body through birth to ensure labour progresses, whilst providing massage, gentle touch and counter-pressure, in the moments you need it most. In the hardest moments I am there to hold you, reassure you and remind you of how truly incredible you are.
*Birth support can be tailored to your individual needs, for example, I can act as your main birth partner or be with you during a planned or emergency caesarean section (c-section).
POSTPARTUM
During postpartum, I help the family as they adjust physically and emotionally to life with a new baby. This can include practical support at home, guidance on newborn care - including feeding challenges and baby wearing, assistance with physical recovery, nutrition and emotional wellbeing, and information about accessing community resources.
Every family’s birth story is unique, and I would be honoured to be part of yours.
