Before becoming a doula, I worked for many years as a registered nurse and midwife. Over time , I saw how stretched maternity systems could leave families without the emotional and practical support they truly needed. That's what led me to doula work - where I could offer the continuity and holistic care that makes such a difference in this life-changing time.
I am trained and certified through Wombs South Africa and have also completed the Doula UK alternative pathway, which recognised my prior experience and training. I hold a degree in nursing and midwifery and have completed a diploma through Our Baby Club ( FEDANT accredited) to teach antenatal and postnatal education.
A brief description of my services include:
Antenatal education and preparation: covering a variety of topics such as birth, feeding, newborn care and emotional readiness.
Birth Support: continuous, personalised care during labour wherever you choose to give birth.
Postnatal care: in-home support during the early weeks, focused on rest, recovery, emotional wellbeing and adjusting to life with your new baby.
While my doula role is non-clinical and distinct from midwifery practice, my healthcare background allows me to navigate the maternity system confidently and work respectfully alongside midwives, health visitors and doctors. I believe in teamwork - supporting the medical professionals while offering the emotional presence and practical help that they often don't have time to provide.
Every family is different and I tailor my care to your individual needs whether that means quiet encouragement, structured guidance or simply being a steady presence in your home during the times you need it most. Being part of this chapter in others lives is an honour and absolute joy and I want other woman to experience it as such.
