About Me
Hi, I’m Emily-Clare Hill — a birth prep, birth, and postpartum doula here to walk alongside you during this powerful, life-changing time. My mission is to help you feel calm, informed, and supported as you move through pregnancy, birth, and those first tender days with your baby.
I’ve spent nearly two decades as a yoga teacher, holding space for people to feel connected, empowered, and at ease in their bodies and lives. For over ten years, I’ve run our beloved yoga studio in Stoke Newington, a hub of community and connection. My work has always been about helping people feel grounded and seen — and becoming a doula felt like a natural (and beautiful) extension of that.
Now, as a mother to a bold and brilliant four-year-old, I bring not just professional experience but lived wisdom to this work. Motherhood has softened me, deepened me, and shown me just how important it is to feel truly supported — and I want to offer that to you.
My Training & Experience
I trained with Red Tent Doulas and remain connected to a strong, vibrant community of birth workers. I continue to deepen my knowledge through ongoing learning, including:
- Biomechanics for Birth with Molly O’Brien
- Hypnobirthing Teacher Training with Mama Serene and Emily Bray
- Breastfeeding and Lactation Fundamentals with Katie James
- Peanut Ball Support with Wendy Procter
My Services
I offer personalised care and guidance through every stage of your birthing journey, including:
- The highs and lows of pregnancy support
- Evidence-based birth planning and full antenatal education (with a handy birth guide)
- Three focused birth prep sessions (covering hypnobirthing, birth choices, and nervous system support)
- Movement and body awareness practices to support you and your baby’s birth journey
- Creating a safe, nurturing birth space wherever you choose to deliver
- Gentle insight into feeding, soothing, and settling in the early baby days
To make things easier, I also provide a complete birth kit with items that make a big difference on the day: a TENS machine, birth ball, peanut ball, string lights, acupressure and myofascial release balls, yoga blocks, and a foldable mat — all included, so you don’t have to worry about buying things you may only use once.
My Philosophy of Care
I believe that birth is a deeply personal experience, and no matter what your path looks like — home birth, hospital birth, or cesarean — I’ll be there with compassion, clarity, and zero judgment. My approach is calm, warm, and grounded, always centred on your needs and choices.
I see my role as creating a safe, nurturing space where you and your family feel held and confident, with the right balance of evidence-based knowledge and intuitive support.
