My profession has been all about babies, children, families and birth since 2009. My purpose is to support women and their partners to be empowered, to find their inner knowing, and to have confidence in their pregnancy, birth and parenthood journeys. I am quiet, gentle, easy going, and fun loving, and I fully support the choices a couple makes for their pregnancy and birth without judgement.
As a birth doula I will help you and your partner to create that space, the optimal environment, to birth your baby. Prior to the birth, we will meet at least 3 to 4 times antenatally to discuss what you have in mind for your birth and I will fully support your choices. I will believe in you and you will feel empowered and will trust yourself. I will come to you when you need me for your labour and you and your partner will feel supported and listened to. Then after the birth, I will visit you again to offer you the chance to debrief your experience, listening to both you and your partner the talk about how you felt it all went. I will answer any questions you may have and help you get off to the right start with feeding your baby. I am an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) so will be in a great position to get your feeding journey off to a successful start.
As a Postnatal doula, I will help you in those beautiful early days of your baby's life, for as long as you think you need, and nourish you with my expertise. I provide emotional, informational and practical support, drawing upon my 15 years of experience of working with families, and my continual adding to my practice with learning and building upon my skills. I can cook for you and your family, do light housekeeping, help with chores or projects, and be there to listen to your birth story, your concerns and your questions. You can sleep and feel restored and refreshed. You can feel nourished and listened to. You will feel reassured and will gain confidence. I will be there for you. If you have older children, I can muck in with them too, relying on my skills having been an 'Outstanding' Ofsted Registered Childminder for 12 years, so you feel rest assured that they too are tended to.
I am an IBCLC (International Board Certified Lactation Consultant) and I also work part-time for the NHS as an Infant Feeding Supporter at a London hospital. I can help you reach your feeding goals and will stay in touch for as long as needed, being there for you if you hit any bumps in the road.
Additionally, I have training in perinatal mental health, supporting women on how to cope with perinatal trauma or anxiety. I am trained in the 3 Step Rewind Technique for birth or perinatal trauma. I have been volunteering with the PANDAS Foundation, a charity and community offering peer support to those with perinatal mental illness, since June 2021.
Below are what some Birth Clients have said about me:
"We were so lucky to have Erin as our Doula. From the moment we met, her serenity, empathy and warmth instantly put us at ease. She has been an incredible source of support through pregnancy, birth and beyond and we have really benefited from her wisdom and kindness."
"Erin was eager to make sure we could depend on being fully supported in spite of Covid and arranged for us to have a shared care package; she introduced us to Lara, our other wonderful Doula, and the two of them worked beautifully together to guide us on our pregnancy and birthing journey. We had a tough pregnancy, but Erin helped us to find our strength and understood what we needed to prepare us for parenthood. Our baby boy then decided to make an early appearance; Erin provided constant reassurance, made herself available to answer our endless questions, shared useful resources, gave us great advice and was the calming presence we needed. From teaching Danny brilliant massage techniques to help ease labour pains, to offering terrific postnatal breastfeeding support, invaluable tips on raising a newborn, reminding us both to practice crucial self care and bringing us delicious home cooked food, Erin was there to guide us and help us through the third and fourth trimesters. We are so grateful to have had such a wonderful Doula in Erin; working with her made our pregnancy and parenting journey even more special and we won't hesitate to call her if more children are in our future!" Cat and Danny
"We are so grateful to have had Erin as part of our birthing team. She is always reliable, responsive, professional, evidence-based and fully committed to enhancing the birth experience you want to have whatever that may be. Our birth threw us the unique and completely unforseen curveball of a global pandemic (!) which resulted in some changes to the birth plan as a result of government and hospital policy. At every stage Erin was all over every piece of guidance and every option available from the hospital and the government and was able to offer us the full suite of virtual support and complete assistance in reviewing our birth plan. It was unchartered territory for us and so many other couples. However, at every stage (including the final two nights in a row she stayed up with us assisting, advising and comforting) I know that we were in such a better place having that hand to hold enabling us to stay calm and relaxed and ultimately to improve and enhance our birth experience. COVID has challenged us all in very different ways, but I now know the true depth of support and assistance great doulas like Erin can offer and it really is very humbling. Thank you, Erin!" Hannah and George, May, 2020
"We’re so lucky to have Erin in our lives ❤️ Her varied, holistically global toolbox of support has made her the most flexible and accommodating Birth and Post-Natal Doula one could ask for. Not only does she fulfill my need for less traditional and more alternative motherly care, but she’s an encyclopedia of knowledge to my partner who much more prefers the researched science side of things!" Lena, November 2019
"My husband thought Erin was the perfect birth partner. He said they spoke to one another with their eyes and worked together perfectly for what I needed. He had the best experience that a dad could have. " Carolina
"I had a wonderful natural birth in May 2015. My husband and I don't know what we would have done without our amazing doula Erin. From the moment we met Erin we clicked. I felt an easy sense of comfort around her. I knew she would be perfect. We got to know her over two antenatal appointments where she took us through fear and anxiety release exercises, really preparing me for my labour. Looking back, we don't know what we would have done without Erin. With Erin's support I was able to have the beautiful birth that I wanted, overcoming my fears, and bringing my baby safely in to the world." Leena
"Erin is a brilliant, attentive, considerate, patient doula. She was a calming reassuring presence. She is intuitive and imaginative and kept Claire calm during a frenetic 20 minute race to hospital. After baby was born, she was very helpful, looking after Claire's needs, making sure she had all she wanted. She is a very friendly, approachable person who puts people at ease. I would recommend her extremely highly to any of my friends." Mark
Below are what some Post Natal Clients have said about me:
“Having Erin as our doula for postnatal support has been invaluable to us. In the beginning I had doubts about my ability to breastfeed but Erin’s pre birth breastfeeding session gave me the initial confidence that I needed going into this as a first time mom. After the birth of my son, the first few days and weeks were particularly challenging as he had jaundice but Erin was there for us throughout this difficult time. If we had any questions or concerns she was only a WhatsApp away. From teaching us how to soothe our baby to sleep, to showing me how to navigate through the struggles of breastfeeding, Erin’s support has been priceless. She is also an excellent cook and she helped us by prepare delicious meals for my family - a huge support during the early days of learning how to take care of a newborn. I wholeheartedly recommend Erin!” Nandita
"Not sure what I'd do without Erin's virtual support! My daughter was born in the second week of March, and Erin was due to start as my Postnatal Doula just as London went into lockdown. Even though I haven’t been able to have Erin over to be with my daughter and me because of the current situation, Erin has been a fantastic support to me so far over the first four weeks of my daughter’s life, via FaceTime, telephone and text. We speak every other day or so and she shares with me her advice, knowledge and research and I ask all of the questions under the sun, so far relating to nappy rash, tongue tie, feeding (breast, bottle with expressed milk and formula), nappies, baby behaviour, dummies, sleep, wind, colic, my feelings, etc. The list is ongoing as the days go by! I originally wanted a post-natal Doula for those early weeks after having a baby, as I didn’t know what to expect from my life as a new Mummy, and thought I’d need the support and reassurance from someone who knows what they’re doing and talking about, and that’s exactly what I’m getting. I’m not sure how I’d be without Erin, especially at a time like this!" Hannah L. March/April, 202
"Erin’s kind, gentle nature, her patient ear, her vast knowledge and insatiable interest in all things mama and baby, make her a really special doula. I felt incredibly lucky to have her and truly don’t think I would have survived without her!" Fran, January 2020
"I can't recommend Erin highly enough. She was the epitome of calm and kindness in those whirlwind first few months when it's total chaos! I had an elective C-Section and wasn't sure whether I wanted doula support, but it turned out she was just the the right fit for me and what I needed. I immediately felt at ease with her, trusted her implicitly around my baby, who instantly took to her, and valued her wisdom which was never forced on me but always gratefully received. As well as the advice and reassurance she was just a great listener and allowed me to take some small Time Outs to have a bath, go to a yoga class, get a breath of fresh air or simply sit in another room and have a moment all of which made me feel slightly more human! All safe in the knowledge my baby was in the best care." Jo
"Erin is very knowledgeable and enormously interested in birth, babies and mothering. She is warm hearted and non judgemental. I had major breastfeeding issues which we chatted through - she was very supportive to me at this time. I looked forward to her coming, nothing was ever too much trouble. I consider Erin a friend now." Ruth
"Erin is a warm, funny and kind person who instantly puts you at your ease. She is a caring and nurturing person and is very comfortable to be around. I felt safe and supported with her. She is gentle and a great listener, very sympathetic and caring. She was great with my toddler and also wonderfully caring and engaged with my baby. I felt very able to open up to her and offload. I also would ask her advice which she would give as suggestions, and often after researching first. She would roll up her sleeves as soon as she arrived and would tidy up; she was a huge help and was always looking for things to do. She was great at making food for us too." Charlotte
"Erin was so helpful. She was compassionate and gave me confidence in my ability as a mum. She sympathised with my difficulties. I couldn't have survived without her." Felicity
"I strongly recommend Erin as a doula to everyone. She is someone who truly loves to be with babies and kids, she is knowledgeable as a doula and she is an amazing chef who can easily make delicious food even with simple instructions I gave to her." Vicky
"Erin is a lovely empathetic person to have in your home. She is also a great cook!" C.
"My husband and I were the luckiest when Erin came to help us after our baby girl, Tomiko, was born. Erin was incredibly caring, compassionate, and helped us so very much during those trying first few weeks. We are from Argentina so when living in London we didn’t have our family close by. Erin was there to support us and help us through it all. All I can say is THANK GOODNESS she was there with us. Her experience gave us confidence and she taught us so much. You and your family will in the best hands with her." Veronica
"Erin supported me during my first anxious months as a mum of twins. She helped me look after them and keep the house running but most importantly allowed me to get some much needed sleep. I appreciated her calmness in the face of my uncertainty and her vast experience and knowledge was invaluable in navigating those early weeks." Anupa
"Erin provided wonderful post natal doula support to me when my son was born. She covered for a few sessions while my regular post natal doula was away and I really appreciated her help. Living away from family meant that we needed additional support. She listened, provided support, and helped cook some tasty meals for us. This allowed me to rest and recover. Erin’s knowledge is extensive and current - which I found very helpful. She provided information and completely supported the decisions I made. I would highly recommend her services." Christle
A bit more about me:
I have two children; my daughter was born in February 2006 and my son in January 2008. I worked for 12 years as an 'Outstanding' Ofsted Registered Childminder and have extensive knowledge in child development and the Early Years. I have a deep interest in learning about other cultures and countries. I love to cook and bake and spend a lot of time in the kitchen. I love to read and am a bit of a compulsive book buyer. My current genres are parenting, child development, and birth. I believe strongly in the value of women supporting other women and I wish to do my small part in the big experience of helping a woman bring life into the world. I embrace unconditional, non-judgmental support and know the value of full attention listening and of having companionship in what can sometimes feel an isolating time. I was the resident host of the Kingston SW London Red Tent so am well used to holding space for others.
I am also a Doula trainer for a Doula UK accredited training provider, Younique Postnatal, and I hold Continuous Professional Development workshops for Doula colleagues. I am a Mentor to new Doulas and embrace Solution Focused Practice as my go-to approach for communicating with both mentees and clients.

My Specialties:
I hold Mother Blessings for pregnant women. (Also known as Blessingways.) Mother Blessings are a magical gathering of female friends and family for the mother to be.
