Postnatal Doula Infant Feeding Specialist
Hi my name is Erin, and I feel extremely privileged to be able to assist families during one of the most significant changes in their lives, whether it is supporting a first-time mother, or a mum who has another baby to add to the family. In either case, a mother needs time to recover from the birth of her baby, and to enjoy a time of stress-free bonding with the newest member of the family.
I live in Reading with my husband and two daughters. After the birth of my second daughter, I trained as a Breastfeeding Helper. After qualifying as a helper, I regularly volunteered on the maternity wards of the Royal Berkshire Hospital as well as in local drop-in clinics. I later trained to become a Breastfeeding Supporter and qualified in July 2013. I have enjoyed helping hundreds of women with feeding and the momentous transition to motherhood. Then in January 2016, I trained as a postnatal doula so that I might be able to reach more mothers and spend an ample amount of time with a mother ensuring that she gets the time and support she needs.
I offer emotional support as well as practical help around the house by preparing meals and doing light housework. My aim is to make that mum feel pampered and at ease, thus ensuring that she becomes confident and fulfilled.
My experience includes helping mothers of premature babies on neonatal units, mothers of multiples, and exclusively expressing mothers.
