Hej!
I’m Fanny, a full spectrum doula and birth keeper, passionate about all things birth.
For as long as I can remember I dreamt of working within the birthing world - but it took me a while to make it reality!
Originally from Sweden via a stint in France, I’ve been calling East London home for the past 10 years, where I live with my partner, our two children and our cat.
My own experiences, with two births at opposite ends of the spectrum, inspired me wanting to support others on their journeys, especially those seeking VBAC, home birth, and for those healing from trauma. I am passionate about the physiological process in birth as well as taking a holistic approach to things, working with what's within our ability to control; supporting our body and mind together.
I believe that our experience of birth can truly change who we are and how we see the world. A positive experience where we feel respected and heard can make an huge impact on us, not only on the immediate time after, but on our whole future.
When we work together, we will focus on you - your hopes, fears, and dreams about entering this new chapter in your life. Together with you and any chosen birth partner, we’ll create a safe space where you both feel confident, informed, and secure.
With rising intervention rates, it’s more important than ever to have someone by your side to hold space, advocate for your voice, and protect your choices.
Accessible birth care and human rights have always been close to my heart, and I believe everyone has the right to receive the same standard of care, regardless of who or where they are. I am committed to inclusivity and welcome women and birthing people of every race, ethnicity and religion, the LGBTQ+ community, and those from marginalised groups.
I am passionate about the fourth trimester and can support you not only through birth, but also in the early postnatal weeks. It can be anything from debriefing your experience, to feeding support, holding space or cooking for you.
I offer a range of flexible packages for birth, postnatal, ad hoc support, birth planning, power hours, or something bespoke. As a full spectrum doula, I can join you at any stage of your journey.
Outside of private birth work I also volunteer with the Bridge Birth Project at Homerton Hospital, as well as with Doulas Without Borders.
When I am not working you're most likely to find me gardening with the kids, experimenting in the kitchen, or in the sofa, lost in a book next to a glass of wine.
If you feel we might be a good match, don’t hesitate to reach out here or via my website: www.e17birthhouse.com.
