As part of my postnatal care package, I offer massage, lush food, sitzbaths and other herbal wisdom, and Moxa treatment.
My name is Faye. I’m 38, the oldest sister of eight siblings, and the mum of a very witty seven-year-old. I live in Helston with my partner, daughter and two naughty guinea pigs. In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family and loooong walks.
My childhood experience was shaped by the arrival of my younger siblings. I was eight when the second of my six younger brothers was born. At the time, I desperately wanted to accompany my mum to the hospital, which, naturally, wasn’t permitted. Luckily, however, I was allowed to come to the paediatric unit to visit him the days after. I still remember the awe with which I held his little life. He was so precious, and I felt so very honoured. That time was the starting point of my love story with all things pregnancy, birth and postpartum.
I assisted Mum in looking after that particular little one from the age of eight. Another brother followed almost three years later. Four more siblings joined us during my late teens and early twenties (among them one younger sister, thank Goodness!). At twenty-two, I attended my youngest brother’s birth. It was a deep and life-changing experience, and it made up my mind about the path I wanted to take.
I particularly enjoyed looking after Mum and him in the days after he was born. He had been born prematurely and needed to stay in hospital due to jaundice, so I went in there each day, cooked for Mum, and kept her company; both of us still look back on that time with fond memories.
After birthing my own daughter in 2016, I became even more aware of how hugely important postnatal care was. Mum had been there for my daughter’s birth and the immediate postpartum phase. I felt so well cared for and buoyed by my mum’s love for us that I wanted this to be an experience available to all newborn parents (no matter whether it’s their first child or their tenth).
Practising with independent midwives and looking after friends postnatally, I learned that the right support is not so much about the where and what but the ‘HOW’.
When you ask me to be there for you and your family through your postpartum journey, I bring an open ear, lush, nourishing food, and loving presence. Our time together will be guided by your needs and wishes, and I shall respect your choices at all times.
Before we begin our shared journey, we have a complimentary meeting to get to know each other and discuss your ideas, wishes and expectations.
I always feel very honoured to be a part of someone’s path, especially at such a unique moment in their lives, and I am looking forward to meeting you.

‘Doula-graphy’ > a quick overview of my trainings and experience
After finishing school in 2004, my journey started with a course in Traditional Chinese Medicine. During that course, I also learned what foods and treatments best assist a newborn parent in their postnatal healing.
Other than that, I learned gentle touch in different massage courses (Tuina and baby massage).
During my twenties, I assisted my mum with running our family-owned farm and raising my seven younger siblings (the youngest is 22 years younger than me). This time taught me valuable things about caring for others, and the wish to become a doula, was born.
Once decided, I assisted various midwives during births and postnatally and thus gained a deeper understanding of pregnancy and birth.
In 2015, I did my first Doula training with Kate Woods from Conscious Birthing and became pregnant soon after.
In 2016, I moved to Cornwall as a single mum when my daughter was only two weeks old. I quickly learned the importance of a reliable social network and knew then that I wanted to support parents postnatally.
During the pandemic, I worked as an hourly carer in the local community. There, I gained further experience in looking after others.
In October 2023, I completed my Postnatal Doula Training with Samsara Tanner of Conscious Birthing, and I am now a mentored student doula.
