About Me
Hi!
I am a mother of two teenage boys. I enjoy cold water swims, foraging and going on big hikes in the wilderness. I love spending time with my family and see them as the biggest joy and support in my life. I am an artist with a studio at the Old Bakery in Truro. I run life drawing classes and think being an artist and doula compliment each other very nicely 🙂
I am here to support you. My role is to listen, help, nurture, hold space, be open and inform by signposting. There is no expectation, just honouring of this beautiful space, this deep transition into parenthood.
Although an advocate for physiological and home births, I am able to support any birth choice. My role is to provide information so that you can make informed choices, support so that you can feel empowered in your choice and continuation of care through all eventualities, wanted and unwanted.
During our pre-natal sessions I hold space for your own birth stories, talk through your expectations, go through your birth-plan and signpost you to pertinent information to help you prepare, mentally and physically, for one of the most intense and incredible experiences of your life!
I believe strongly in the 4th trimester. This is the time after birth where bonding of baby happens. I offer a minimum of 2 postnatal visits in the weeks following birth. Here I provide breastfeeding support, homemade food and debriefing of the birthing experience. If there is support needed after this I can signpost to postnatal doulas.
This is your story, your journey, your rite of passage. I am here for you.
