About Me
I was extremely fortunate to have been empowered by my midwife and pregnancy yoga teacher to have both my sons at home whilst relatively young. As I supported and watched friends and associates be less fortunate, often not having the birth they hoped for, I started feeling a desire to help women navigate this extremely pivotal time in a heavily medicalised society. Through my doula training and empathy for the power of choice, I am able to support ANY birth choice. My role is to provide information so that you can make informed choices, support so that you can feel empowered in your choice and continuation of care through all eventualities, including home birth, ceasarean section, induction and forceps delivery. My role is to be a support to the birthing person, partner if present, and midwives, helping encourage a positive birth experience. There is no judgement, no expectation, just honouring of this beautiful space, this deep transition into parenthood. During our pre-natal sessions I hold space for your birth stories, talk through your expectations, go through your birth-plan and signpost you to pertinent information. I believe strongly in the 4th trimester. This is the time after birth where the bonding of baby to parents is paramount, emotional and physical support is essential and debriefing of the birthing experience very helpful. Which is why I offer 3 postnatal visits in the weeks following birth. If there is support needed after this I can signpost to postnatal doulas.
