I am a friendly mum of two children and I have spent the last 17 years working with young children and their families as an Ofsted registered childminder. This was a wonderful way to stay at home with my own kids while they were little and I loved seeing all the children in my care grow from babies to confident school children.
I decided to train as a post natal doula because the early weeks with your newborn are such a special time but can also be quite challenging. For many women, this is a brand new stage in their lives. I want to help new mums and their families feel confident and enjoy their new baby as they begin their journey together.
I am just beginning my journey as a Post Natal Doula. I am currently mentored; learning and progressing with the support of an experienced tutor before becoming fully recognised. As a client, you will benefit from the knowledge of the very experienced doula mentoring me behind the scenes as well as my hands on support.
My role as your doula is to support you in the first weeks and months with your baby. To gently help you find time and a calm space to rest, start recovering from the birth and get to know your new baby. I can help with baby care skills or light housework, prepare nourishing meals and help entertain older children. I can just hold your baby while you sleep, shower or have a bit of time to yourself! I am a good listener so you can tell me anything and everything and I come prepared with lots of information about sources of help, classes and activities for you and your baby if you want or need them.
Every mum, baby and family are different. As your doula, I offer individual, gentle support to make space for you and your baby to thrive as you learn all about each other and get ready to go back into the world together.
