Hello, I am Hannah an experienced birth doula, birth photographer and filmmaker.

I have a vast experience of over 10 years in practise in supporting all kinds of different births from home births to elective cesareans. I also work a lot with woman planning a VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) or women who are working through previous trauma related to birth or life events.

I love working with women and couples to step into their own responsibility to give birth and to support them on their journey to a birth of beautiful transformation and joy. I am incredibly passionate about women and couples learning about birth and understanding the system so that they can make informed decisions to plan for the birth they truly want.

I have attended over 100 births in my career. I have experience with twins.

I have availability to work with women and couples 1:1 to prepare for birth this includes:

"Hannah came into our lives during the birth of my first baby in 2019.

I was going through a particularly hard time in my personal life when I booked Hannah quite late on in my pregnancy. The first time we met was beautiful and I felt like a physical weight had been lifted off my shoulders after we had spoken. My first birth was very traumatic, with much of that trauma hitting me months afterwards. Although I had to transfer into hospital after a long back to back labour at home, Hannah stayed with me for almost 24 hours straight. Although she was not allowed into theatre, the pictures she captured before and soon after my baby arrived are nothing short of priceless. I truly don't think I could have got through that experience with such a positive outlook if it hadn't been for her.

My second birth could not have been any more different to the first. Hannah worked tirelessly with me throughout my second pregnancy to overcome the trauma, fear and grief that had resurfaced from the first time around. She put me in touch with medical professionals and worked with both me and my husband (together and separately) to overcome our fears and anxiety with a second birth. In the end, baby number 2 arrived so fast and furiously that Hannah walked through the door 5 minutes before the head was crowning. Paramedics and midwives were still on their way but she calmly supported me to birth our baby on the bathroom floor at home before they arrived. I don't know what I would have done if she had not been there to catch the baby and prepare the birthing space within a moment's notice. Hannah is so knowledgeable about all things birth that I had no fear as soon as I saw her face.

During labour and birth, you tend to remember things so differently to what others can see. Looking back on my photos from both births, I hardly recognise myself in them. Even at my most vulnerable, I was in total awe of what my body did. If it had not been for Hannah's presence, love and gentle encouragement, my experience of birth would have been so different. She is the most talented photographer, nurturing doula, trusted birthkeeper and now godmother to our second baby. That is testament to how much of an invaluable impact she has had on mine and my family's life since 2019."

"As soon I met Hannah I knew she was the Doula for us. Hannah has an aura about her that stays with you forever. She’s a part of my soul. Looking back I was looking for a Doula who didn’t have to do anything in particular it was about just being there. A calm, confident, soothing presence. Someone who could hold our birth space exactly how we wanted. We wanted a voice that would represent us had our birth got sidetracked & Hannah excelled at everything.

Once Hannah arrived at our home, I felt at peace. The surges were intense but knowing she was there for me, for us, meant I could let go and everything would be just fine. Our Son was born into a stress free, loving environment at home. My wishes were respected and I felt in control and we able to focus on our new baby.

We were also looking for a birth photographer to capture those all important moments before during and after birth. They can be difficult to grasp in the throws of labour and naturally as time goes on, your memory fades and I was keen for our Son to know and learn about his birth. I was ecstatic to find out Hannah could also do this for us, not only did it mean that we would have one less person present in our birth space but I knew she would capture exactly what we were after very naturally.

Our Son is now 2.5 years old. We look at the photos and watch our birth video regularly - he asks to do so! I’m so incredibly grateful for Hannah and her hard work for making these for us. It’s building a solid and realistic foundation for our Son about birth, breastfeeding and early days with a newborn. It’s raw and beautiful and no doubt he will carry those important life memories forwards with him. We thank you Hannah!

When I think back to the birth of our Son, of course I think about the overwhelming sensations that come along with meeting your baby for the first time, breastfeeding him, us becoming a family of 3 but I also think about Hannah. One doesn’t exist without the other. It not just about what Hannah said or did it was about how she made me feel & that goes a long way. I really felt I could have done anything with her by my side.

I love Hannah and the experience she was a huge part of. So much so I’m now in the middle of training to be a Doula myself. This is how much she has inspired me! She knew, she had been through it, she felt everything I needed her to feel in order to not only capture such a special event, but also to help me through it. We immediately bonded in our grief, as we had both suffered tremendous loss in the recent past, and I knew that she would be a wonderful presence at the birth of my baby.
