About Me
I’m a proud mother of five, with my eldest now 34 and my youngest 13. After spending more than three decades nurturing babies, raising children, and supporting other mothers in my community, I followed my calling and qualified as a doula in October 2024.
Supporting women through pregnancy, birth, and the early postnatal weeks feels natural to me. I am fun, caring, understanding, reliable, and deeply committed to creating a safe, calm, and empowering environment for every family I support.
My approach is rooted in compassion, trust, and lived experience. I meet each mother exactly where she is, offering emotional support, practical guidance, and a steady presence that helps her feel held, heard, and confident in her own instincts.
Lived Experience
Motherhood has been my greatest teacher, and my journey has included both deep joy and significant challenge.
One of my twins was taken to the Special Care Baby Unit at birth and later spent around seven months at Great Ormond Street Hospital due to complex stomach difficulties. That experience taught me the importance of calm presence, patience, advocacy, and emotional reassurance during times of uncertainty.
I have also supported my eldest son through a lupus diagnosis at the age of 18, navigating years of medical appointments, changing symptoms, and emotional ups and downs. This journey has deepened my compassion and understanding of how health challenges affect the whole family.
I have also experienced miscarriage shortly before the birth of my youngest child. This loss was deeply emotional and has shaped the gentle, sensitive way I support mothers, always honouring each woman’s unique journey and emotions.
Professional Background
Alongside my work as a doula, I am a qualified phlebotomist. Working within healthcare has strengthened my understanding of clinical environments, patient care, and the importance of clear communication, calm reassurance, and professionalism.
This background supports the way I work alongside families and healthcare teams, while always respecting the non-clinical, supportive role of the doula.
Additional Experience
Alongside my lived experience as a mother, I also completed a couple of years of midwifery training. Although I did not complete the course due to life circumstances at the time, the knowledge and insight I gained continue to inform the way I support women today.
This experience strengthened my understanding of pregnancy, birth, postnatal care, advocacy, and the importance of respectful, woman-centred support.
