Jo Eatherton

Birth Doula & Postnatal Doula

I am a 47 year old mum of two gorgeous boys aged 21 and 18. Both were vaginal births, one with Pethadine and a Tens Machine, and my second with just a Tens Machine. With my second pregnancy I had placenta previa, so I have personal experience of a difficult pregnancy, but fortunately I was still able to give birth naturally.

I feel very fortunate to be a Doula, doing something I absolutely love.

My aim is to help mothers to achieve the best experience during pregnancy, labour & birth. I provide support to both Mums and Dads, as well as any little ones you may already have. Everyones experience is unique and I always aim to make it as comfortable and positive as possible.

Through my own personal knowledge and experience I will help inform and support you to make your own personal birth plans and help you understand all the choices available to you. I believe it is important to have constant support during labour, and the consistency of having present, someone with whom you have built a relationship with. All of my clients have said this was invaluable to them.

Postnatally,I want you to feel that you have all the care you need to enable you to relax and enjoy bonding with your new baby. As your life changes and you experience breast feeding, nappy changing, sleeping patterns and feeding times, I can offer help and support to make this transition a happy one. I will also help with small household jobs such as unloading the dishwasher, hanging up washing. All these little extra things means you have more time to rest and enjoy being with your baby. UNICEF & WHO aligned Breastfeeding, General First Aid (British Red Cross) Paediatric First Aid (Daisy First Aid) Enhanced DBS Certificate Nurturingbirth (Birth and Postnatal) Doula training course. Fully insured.                                  I have been lucky enough to build up a lot of experience with twins, in both birth and postnatal support. As a doula I have experienced a variety of births, from natural to those with more medical intervention. I have worked primarily at the Princess Royal University Hospital in Farnborough (Kent) but I have also worked at Queen Elizabeth (Woolwich).
