Julia Evans

Mentored Birth Doula & Mentored Postnatal Doula

Hi there, I’m Julia - The Devoted Doula (Hampshire/Surrey based).

Thank you for reading my info and how I would be able to help and support you during your pregnancy/birth/postpartum period.

For as long as I can remember I’ve loved the thought of being about to provide support to mothers and families to enable them to feel educated and well equipped during their pregnancy, birth, and postpartum journeys. I have been fascinated and intrigued by all things antenatal, birth, and breastfeeding related since before having my first child – I mean how incredible are women’s bodies?!

I’ve been fortunate enough to have had some lovely pregnancy and birth experiences, which is why I’m now eager to provide this positive and joyful perspective to you. By being your advocate and ensuring you feel listened to and heard. I will support YOUR choices!

As a mum of 3 I can completely appreciate the worries of this life changing event but that’s where a doulas main focus is to be that unwavering support and guidance enabling the best journey into parenthood.

I am a mentored doula working towards gaining recognition with Doula UK - where I am now a proud member following the completion of the approved preparation course. I completed this with Developing Doulas in December 2023.

I offer both birth and postnatal care and support packages as well as bespoke plans to suit your requirements. From the initial stage of pregnancies to when you feel comfortable and confident within the postpartum period, I’ll be with you each step of the way.

Antenatal & Birth: As your birth doula I will help you with birth preparation, provide antenatal sessions where we’ll plan and discuss options for birth – looking at evidence-based information to help you make an informed and educated choice.

Postnatal: As your postnatal doula, you’ll have dedicated block sessions tailored to your needs as you navigate the fourth trimester. Within this time, I solely devote my care to you and your recovery – the role of ‘mothering the mother’. Whether you need a listening ear, someone to advocate for you or to just lighten the load, I’m here.

Breastfeeding is also something I’m very interested in and feel passionate about, which is why I completed a peer supporter course with the ABM (Association of Breastfeeding Mothers) back in 2021/2022. My feeding experiences have all varied with each of my children so I can fully appreciate and empathise with the struggles and challenges that are associated with breastfeeding. Just know, I’m here to be your biggest supporter.

If you would like to chat further or have any questions please get in touch! I’d love to hear from you.
