About Me
Side by Side Doula Services aims to provide a welcoming and inclusive service for ALL families
My approach is rooted in compassion, evidence-based knowledge, and a deep respect for the unique journey each family takes.
After the birth of my fourth child, my passion for supporting families through pregnancy and birth blossomed into a calling. With extensive knowledge in pregnancy and birth, and a background in early years education, I’ve had the privilege of working as a nanny for over a dozen families before and after having my own children, gaining invaluable insight into the rhythms, challenges, and joys of early parenthood.
My experience also includes volunteering with the NHS, where I supported breastfeeding and chestfeeding parents, offering companionship, reassurance, and practical guidance during some of their most vulnerable moments.
I take great joy in working with a diverse range of families. Whether you’re seeking support with feeding, baby care, household needs, emotional grounding, or simply someone to listen without judgement, I offer a calm, steady presence tailored to your needs. My work is centred on helping you make informed choices throughout pregnancy, birth, and the early weeks with your baby. I provide antenatal education, including hypnobirthing if desired, and full-spectrum support from pre-conception to six months post-birth, including compassionate care during pregnancy or baby loss.
Alongside my doula practice, I am a Doula UK Approved Course Provider, training the next generation of doulas with a focus on integrity, inclusivity, and reflective practice. I am committed to nurturing confident, skilled doulas who can hold space for families with sensitivity and professionalism.
I am a qualified, insured Pregnancy & Postnatal massage therapist and M Technique practitioner.
Within Doula UK, I currently serve as an Area Rep, Birth Mentor, and host of the Doula UK Podcast - available wherever you get your podcasts. I have previously volunteered as a Rep Coordinator, Team Leader and Director, These roles have deepened my understanding of community, governance, and the importance of accessible, high-quality support for all families and all doulas.
Whether you are preparing to welcome a baby or exploring the path to becoming a doula yourself, I offer grounded, compassionate guidance every step of the way.
