Hi, I'm Lisa. I love and enjoy working with parents to be and their babies. Pregnancy and birth are amazing and life changing times for everyone. I am here to guide and make available all the choices there are. I feel passionately about allowing women to make their own decisions about birth. I want women to feel inspired, positive and encouraged about their journey. It's a very special and unique time we undertake together.
I have been a mother since 2006 and I have 3 children. I used to teach English as a foreign language in Paris and I worked in HR for many years. After 11 years of being at home with my children I felt ready to embark on a journey to help mothers to be and mothers. My children's births were all different; one emergency Caesarian and two VBAC births. I also experienced a huge range of emotions following the births. Looking back now, I really could have done with so much more support! I want to offer guidance, love, encouragement, physical, emotional and practical support. My aim is to make sure you feel in control, to ensure you are presented with all the relevant information so that I can support the birth you want.
I work as a Postnatal Doula too. The first few weeks after childbirth can be daunting and exhausting and I love to help new mothers adjust whether it be emotional and/or practical support. I have recently renewed my Paedatric First Aid (Feb 2019) for peace of mind when looking after newborns and small children. It is important that you find someone you can easily relate to as your Doula. I would be delighted to speak to you or alternatively you can email me.
I love this African proverb: It takes a village to raise a child.
