Hello, I’m Liz!
I’m passionate about creating a safe, supportive space where you feel listened to, cared for, and empowered. My approach is calm, kind, and non-judgemental, blending compassionate care with evidence-based knowledge, so you feel both held and fully informed.
Based on the Essex/Suffolk border, I live with my husband and our two children. Before becoming a doula, I spent 16 years as a nurse within the NHS, but I felt a strong pull toward work that allowed me to support women and families in a more personal, nurturing way. Stepping into the world of doula care has been the most rewarding path, and I feel deeply privileged to walk alongside families during such a life-changing time.
Birth Preparation and Support
You will only experience your baby’s birth once, and how you feel during that experience truly matters. With me by your side, you can look forward to feeling calm, confident, and supported throughout your journey. Together, we’ll:
- Explore how birth works and how you can support your body’s natural processes.
- Build confidence in your body’s innate ability to birth your baby.
- Talk through all your options and any possible interventions, so you feel fully informed and empowered to make the best choices for you and your family.
- Create a practical toolkit of techniques that you and your birth partner can draw on during labour and birth.
- Prepare for what the postnatal period may bring, so you step into parenthood feeling ready and supported.
- Enjoy continuity of care and a familiar, trusted presence throughout pregnancy, birth, and beyond.
My role is to support your unique journey—there’s no one-size-fits-all when it comes to birth. I’ll always listen to what feels right for you, holding space for your choices while helping you feel safe, confident, and truly believed in. Whether your baby’s arrival follows the path you’ve planned or takes a different turn, I’ll be there, unwavering in my support for you and your birth partner.
Hypnobirthing
Hypnobirthing can be such a powerful way to prepare for birth. Many of us grow up surrounded by stories that leave us doubting our ability to birth our babies. Hypnobirthing helps you reconnect with your body’s innate wisdom, so you can approach birth with trust and confidence.
Through relaxation, visualisation, hypnosis, and breathing techniques, you’ll discover how to stay calm, centred, and even excited about your birth experience.
Postnatal Support
The days and weeks after birth are precious but can also feel overwhelming. My postnatal care is designed to offer the emotional and practical support that makes all the difference in helping you settle into life with your new baby. With me by your side, you can:
- Feel reassured about normal newborn behaviours, with gentle guidance when you need it.
- Get a helping hand with everyday tasks like laundry, washing up, or meal prep—so you have more time to rest, recover, and bond with your baby.
- Have a safe, non-judgemental space to share your feelings, worries, and experiences.
- Take moments for yourself, knowing your baby is lovingly cared for close by.
- Receive compassionate support with feeding, however you choose to feed your baby, and signposting to trusted local and national resources if needed.
I offer a range of support options—from one-off birth preparation sessions to comprehensive antenatal education, birth support, and flexible postnatal packages designed around you and your family.
