Hello,
I am Mabel Amponsah, founder of MummyMabezz Parent Support Services. It is my heartfelt privilege to walk alongside you as your calm, caring companion through pregnancy, birth preparation, and early parenthood.
Growing up in a large family in Ghana, I was truly raised by the village. I was surrounded by a tradition of communal care—watching women hold, nurture, and uplift one another through the sacred threshold of birth and the tender days that followed. Modern parenthood can often feel isolated and hurried; my mission as your doula is to bring that village back to you, offering a grounding, non-judgemental space where your intuition is honoured, your choices are respected, and you are never alone.
My Experience & Foundations
My doula practice is informed by over a decade of dedication to families across early childhood, community health, and maternity education:
Midwifery Background: Having a professional foundation in midwifery gives me a deep understanding of physiological birth, emotional readiness, and maternity pathways. Please note: As a Doula UK member, my role is strictly non-clinical; I do not provide medical diagnosis, clinical tasks, or emergency care, but work alongside your NHS or independent maternity team to help you navigate your options with confidence.
Health Visiting Expertise: With a degree in Health Visiting, I bring a holistic, evidence-informed approach to family transitions, responsive infant feeding, emotional well-being, and safe sleep environments in the home.
Early Childhood Practice: Grounded in early childhood studies and nursery care, I assist parents with newborn soothing cues, gentle parent-infant attachment, and settling rhythms.
Lived Experience: As a mother of five, I understand firsthand the delicate emotional and physical landscapes of pregnancy and the fourth trimester. Every family’s journey is unique, and I pledge to honour yours with warmth and deep respect.
How I Support You
· Antenatal Preparation: Calm dialogue mapping your birth preferences, practical home and hospital preparation, and infant feeding readiness
· Postnatal Care: In-home fourth-trimester nurture, gentle newborn soothing, feeding guidance (breast, bottle, or combination), and maternal replenishment.
· Partner & Family Inclusion: Empowering partners and co-parents with practical roles so the household transition is calm and cohesive.
I am here to ensure you feel supported, encouraged, and empowered at every step of your story.
