Birth & Postnatal Doula in Surrey and London | Matilda the Doula

"We cannot recommend Matilda enough. She helped us prepare for and achieve our perfect home birth with our first baby, and we genuinely couldn’t have done it without her. From antenatal preparation to continuous support throughout labour and beyond, she made us feel calm, informed and fully supported every step of the way. We’ll absolutely be making sure she’s at our next birth too!”

Max & Jay, First-Time Parents in Kingston, Surrey

Pregnancy, birth and early motherhood can feel exciting, vulnerable, overwhelming and transformative all at once.

As your doula, my role is to ensure you feel deeply supported, informed and emotionally held every step of the way. I combine compassionate, non-judgemental support with evidence-based information, hypnobirthing and biomechanics for birth to help you approach your journey feeling calm, confident and empowered in your choices.

I’m a Doula UK recognised birth and postnatal doula, registered Arts Psychotherapist and mother of two, supporting families across Surrey, South West London, West London, Berkshire and Hampshire.

Why I Became a Doula

Following a difficult and disempowering first birth experience, I later experienced the power of a calm, informed and deeply empowering second birth. That journey inspired me to support women in feeling truly heard, supported and in control throughout their own transition into motherhood.

I truly believe birth can be powerful, transformative and something you look back on feeling proud of.

If you want to leave your birth feeling informed, supported and genuinely empowered throughout your journey, I’d love to chat about how we can make that happen together.

Words From The Families I’ve Supported

"Matilda is truly special to us and having her be part of our birth journey was an amazing blessing- she made all the difference. She supported us with antenatal sessions, was present during labour and at the birth of our son, and then gave us postnatal support to help me get back on my feet with breastfeeding and managing life with a newborn and toddler. Matilda took the time to get to know us and so during labour was one of the few people who was able to just flow with me as I laboured. Even in my complete silence during that time, it was like she could still “hear” me and I just felt so understood and safe! She also gave my husband peace of mind as they were able to tag team between them as they supported me, meaning he didn’t feel alone. Her values of helping mothers feel empowered, supported and in control are woven through everything she does and I can definitely say I felt all of those. If you get the chance to have her as your doula then go for it."
Hannah & Stephen (Second Time Parents) in Berkshire

"Matilda is an incredible doula and we could not have done the challenging early days without her weekly support and I’m not just talking about the sleep (although that was much much needed for our sanity).
Matilda is a really easy going and relaxed person to have in your home. Each week we would look forward to her arrival to talk all things feeding, sleeping and growing. As a new mom each week I had a new concern which was met with a kind and knowledgeable ear to give comfort and when needed suggestions.
Anyone who has a newborn will agree that cooking is the last thing anyone wants to do or has the time to do so the addition of Matilda’s delicious cooking was also greatly appreciated.
All in all we cannot recommend Matilda enough and we will forever be grateful for her doula days with us. She will forever be part of our story."
