About me:
I have personally had interest in pregnancies, birth and the transition of
becoming a mother. My interest grew and grew, and appreciation for what my body can do, for women and parents grew also. When I knew my previous industry was no
longer aligning with me, I researched other roles that
could fit me better. I then landed on being a Doula, something in me
clicked and said I can help women during such a transformative time
and support them and their families. I love the support system, sisterhood and
womanhood in my culture and I believe being a Doula brings/gives
the same energy.
How I'd love to support you:
If we don't know our options, we can't make an informed decision - and I believe we need the most information when birthing a baby. I really want to be there for women and their birth partners to help them feel empowered to make the decision that is right for them and support them through it and also advocate for them.
Being informed on how your body changes during pregnancy and birth can help with knowing what you can expect during those times, which in turn helps you know what measures you can take and how to prepare postnatally. This creates a better space for you during birth and the fourth trimester, so it doesn't feel so overwhelming.
In my culture, it's practiced for the mother and newborn to be taken care of for 40 days during postpartum, this gives the mother space to recover and rest during the Fourth trimester - and the baby, as they've too gone through the changes birth brings. As you might know we are expected to 'get on with it' , and I really believe helping the family in ways that fit with what they need, really does do wonders.
If you have any questions or think I'd be a good fit for you, I'd love to connect x
