Hi, I'm Pineda, a birth and postnatal doula. I live in Cardiff with my husband, our two children and our cat, Biscuit. I am passionate about all things related to pregnancy, birth and the postnatal period.
Childbirth is one of life's most intense experiences, and having someone to support you and your partner can make all the difference! From preparing for childbirth to adjusting to your new family life, I am there to offer comfort, encouragement, knowledge, and support.
My goal is to work with you to prepare you for the birth you want, offering you continuous support so that you feel empowered and cared for throughout your birthing experience, regardless of how it unfolds.
I am also here to support you in the postnatal period, which includes helping with simple household chores, preparing snacks, looking after the baby and any other children, providing support with breastfeeding and bottle-feeding, and doing anything else that will help you to rest and bond with your baby.
To achieve all this, I will create spaces for listening, learning, and reflection. I am not a teacher, nor can I make decisions for you, but I can help you by signposting evidence-based information and resources so that you can make informed decisions that are right for you.
I have supported parents in consultant-led unit, midwife-led unit, home birth, HBAC, and caesarean birth. I have experience with different communities. Every family is different, so I adapt the support I provide to your and your partner's needs.
What clients say about me,
"Pineda visited us for a couple of months following the birth of my first baby boy. She was such a calming presence for us both, she gave very helpful and practical advice and was always so reassuring when I was unsure about anything. Having Pineda there really helped my confidence as a first time mum and I would certainly recommend her." Catherine.
"Pineda was a hugely reassuring presence during my second birth. During pregnancy, she took time to understand my preferences, providing evidence based suggestions and advice without pushing any particular agenda.
During the birth Pineda was wonderful. She was so gentle and caring, and had a very calming influence on me and on everything going on around me. She liaised confidently and proactively with the medical team on my behalf so that i could focus on the task in hand, and had great instincts about when to offer practical help and when to step back.
I have no doubt that her involvement resulted in a significantly better birth experience." Beth.

What motivated me to become a doula?
My children were born in the United States, and the experience of being a mother abroad led me to discover my calling as a doula.
Before moving to Wales, I started training with DONA International, the largest doula training organisation in the US. In 2023, I completed my training and received my certification from Nurturing Birth.
I have lived in different countries and It has been an incredible experience that has allowed me to grow on a personal level. I have had the privilege of meeting and befriending people from very diverse backgrounds and discovering that we all have the same needs: to feel safe and connected to others.
