Rachele Brennan

Mentored Birth Doula & Mentored Postnatal Doula

Hi, my name is Rachele and I graduated from The Doula Training Foundation. I have four sons and two granddaughters, and over the years I have also helped friends and family during their ante and postnatal periods. When I found out what a doula does I knew it would be the perfect job for me! I can offer kind, gentle support in a non judgemental manner, find evidence based information to enable you to make your own choices, and just be there when you need me. Postnatally, I can help care for the baby while you rest, or look after you while you look after your baby. I also offer night time services for those needing a good night's sleep. I hold a current DBS certificate. I cover Manchester city centre and North Manchester. Health Insurance enquiries welcome. My rates are: £25 per hour for postnatal work £825 for a birth including 2 x antenatal visits and 2 x postnatal visits, plus on call for up to 3 weeks. Payment plans accepted and welcomed. Please contact me via text on 07542012364, or email at rachelebrennan825@gmail.com. Thank you so much for viewing my profile and very best wishes for your journey forward.

If you book me for your birth, we would begin with two informal meetings: firstly to get to know each other, and secondly to discuss your birth plans, work through any worries you might have, and generally prepare you for the wonderful adventure you're about to have. Think about the amazing job your body has done so far, and know that your body will know what to do instinctively. I want to help you relax your body and mind and trust yourself to do this.  I'll then be on call for up to 3 weeks around your due date, and will join you when you're in labour, staying throughout until 3 hours after you've given birth. I'll also visit you postnatally twice, when we can chat about your experience, discuss any concerns you have about yourself or your baby, and eat cake...

I am passionate about giving mum and baby the tender care they need to rest and thrive in the first six weeks following the birth.  Especially important - for both of them - is sleep.  A baby's  circadian rhythm is not yet developed and they will need to feed during the night as well as the daytime.  I can care for  your newborn at night whilst you sleep and support you on your breastfeeding journey if that is what you have chosen.  I can also do light housework such as folding laundry or washing the dishes - whatever helps you get a restful night's sleep and facilitates a nurturing bond with your baby.
