About Me
Hi, I’m Sally. I live in Fareham with my husband and 3 young children.
During my own journey to having 3 beautiful children my passion for informed decision making & supporting women to feel confident to trust their own bodies & instincts has also grown immeasurably. It was back in 2012 I became one of the founder members of a local parenting group. As that group has blossomed & developed so my interest in supporting others has broadened: from being purely postnatal, babywearing & breastfeeding support to covering pregnancy, through to all things birth & beyond. So, in 2018, I decided to make it official, extending my practise to include pregnancy & birth – leading me to become a Nurturing Birth Doula.
My role is based around supporting you, mum-to-be/expectant-parent, welcoming & stepping into your own power, to achieve the birth that’s right for YOU!
Whether that is a homebirth, hospital birth, with or without pain relief, or any of the other many & varied options: My aim is to get to know you, to understand & help you prepare in pregnancy for birth. I will listen, support & signpost to relevant, evidence-based resources so that you are able to make informed decisions about the issues that are important to you.
Birth packages will include: two Antenatal visits, being “on call”, usually from 38-42 weeks, to support you physically, emotionally & practically through your labour, birth & the immediate postpartum period, plus two visits Postnatally too.
I have supported women/birthing people in Hospital birth, VBAC, Hypnobirthing, Induction, Water Birth, Elective Cesearean, Breech Viginal birth, Homebirth, & many who were deemed “high-risk”, to achieve the woman centred, informed birth that was right for them. So don’t hesitate to get in touch for an initial chat, to see how I might best support you on your transition to parenthood.
Postnatal services can be flexible & tailor made to suit your needs. Again, supporting you emotionally, physically & practically as you adjust to becoming a mother & making informed decisions for you & your baby’s well-being. I can listen & help you to reflect & debrief your birthing experience, support breastfeeding, prepare food &/or cook, do light housework, help with other children, watch baby while you shower/rest/sleep, run errands & help to manage visitors.
Why not ask for donations towards a Postnatal Doula instead of gifts for baby at your baby shower? After all, what baby really needs is well supported, happy parents to nurture & love them… I’ve been a “gift” for several families who live apart from their own families & what better way to show you care, especially if you cannot be there to help support the new parents in person.
Birth & Postnatal Packages can be tailored to meet your personal needs & requirements. Additional visits, support at medical appointments, scans, breastfeeding & babywearing support & additional postnatal support can all be added on if or when required
