I passionately believe every mother, baby, family and community should be held, heard and supported through the transformative life-event that is giving birth.
I am based on the edge of the South Downs National Park, on the border of West Sussex and Hampshire, in close proximity to both the coast and the rolling hills of this beautiful and unique part of the country. I have been a stay at home parent since my first daughter was born in August 2018. My second baby was born in October 2020 and my two experiences could not have been more different! The world of pregnancy, birth and motherhood remains a source of great passion and interest to me and it is my fervent belief that everyone deserves to be heard, held and supported during this transformative period of their lives. Entering into parenthood can be challenging but I know that with the right support, every new family can flourish. That’s exactly what I facilitate as The South Downs Doula.
I have completed a birth and postnatal preparation course with Kicki Hansard, the founder of the Birth Bliss Academy. I have training in Biomechanics for Birth and I am an accredited KGHypnobirthing instructor offering warm and engaging in-person group courses as well as 1:1 private classes.
I have experience with Gestational Diabetes, having been diagnosed in both of my pregnancies, and am happy to support any fellow GD mums out there with nutrition and GD management. Having breastfed both of my babies, I am very experienced and supportive of breastfeeding and can assist with all aspects of feeding and pumping. I am a big fan of baby-wearing and can support and assist in this as well. I really enjoy cooking and take a great interest in nutrition and love to prepare healthy, home cooked meals and snacks. I even have a few special nurturing recipes especially for new mums up my sleeve! Overall, my goal is simply to take care of you in a way that is most helpful, needed and unique to you and your family.
