Samantha Reynolds

Postnatal Doula

Hello, I’m Sam – a postnatal doula based in Surrey, offering compassionate and practical support to families during the early months of parenthood.

My role is to gently support you as you adjust to life with a new baby and my work blends the practical with the emotional, whether that means preparing nourishing meals, offering emotional reassurance, assisting with feeding, or simply providing a calm and non-judgemental presence in your home. I believe deeply that when a mother is held and supported, she is making the best investment in herself, as well as the whole family.

My journey to becoming a doula has been shaped by both personal and professional experience. As a mother myself and a four-time breast cancer survivor, I understand the importance of recovery, rest, and being surrounded by a continuity of care and building a unique and personal tribe. These experiences have informed the empathetic and nurturing approach I bring to my work with new families.

I support a wide range of postnatal needs, including caesarean recovery, NICU babies, feeding support, siblings adjusting to new arrivals, and trauma.

I offer a variety of services including; In-person home visits, postnatal planning sessions, an invaluable check in service at pivotal points of the first six months and up to babies first year, doorstep deliveries of homemade meals and snacks tailored to different nutritional needs and postnatal recovery, as well as postnatal massage, gentle healing treatments and baby wearing support. I also specialise with mothers who may also be navigating pregnancy and postpartum with a chronic illness.

I am thrilled to be a Developing Doula companion, and I host two doula cuddles a year as the doula community is something I feel passionately about. I also work with the amazing voluntary organisation Home Start Godalming.

I have a wealth of experience signposting and supporting people going through vulnerable times.  I am always learning and thrive on working with mothers, families and parents from all backgrounds and cultures. I am highly efficient, organised, positive, and pro active.

I offer a variety of different packages and flexibilities, so clients can decide what works best for them and their individual needs and financial circumstances. I am always available to discuss individual needs and find a way of supporting each client, in a way that suits everyone. I am DBS checked and insured.

I have a teenage daughter and I love travel, yoga, walking, dancing, singing, movies and writing, keeping a monthly blog on my MummaBaby Sam website and a monthly newsletter.

As a postnatal doula, it is my priority to nurture confidence in my clients to focus on their own self care and how best to give themselves permission to rest and nurture their physical and emotional wellbeing during the fourth trimester and beyond. I am passionate about walking alongside you in this transformational time – offering signposting, reassurance, a non judgmental, patient ear and an encouraging voice for you and all the family, when you need it most.

TESTIMONIALS 'Sam is one of the warmest, kindest, calmest people you will meet. She's perfectly suited to being a postnatal doula - she has a wealth of information to tap into, whilst at the same time listening to you and what you need, and honouring the way that you want to be as a mother'. - Sarah and baby Zac

'Sam has been an absolute godsend - it has been such a tough transition from mummy of one energetic toddler to mummy of two and I really needed some extra support. Just having someone checking in regularly, making sure we were well fed, washing actually folded and a little hands free time to have a bath, etc has all been so essential. Sam offers all that with a loving, kind and reassuring personality that makes you feel so at ease on the darkest of days. I would recommend her and having a post natal doula in general to anyone!'

- Kelly and baby Rosie

'Sam has been a great support during my second breastfeeding journey. From general help and reassurance with latching and positioning, to troubleshooting the various challenges that have cropped up along the way - including tongue tie, managing a fast let down, and helping me through periods where my supply has dropped, she has always been a calm and reassuring support. She was also able to signpost me to other helpful resources when I was particularly worried about my supply, and thankfully we got things back on track. I have also really enjoyed embracing the closeness of the breastfeeding relationship with my daughter during the breastfeeding meditations we have done.’ - Emma and baby Lottie

'During lockdown the video calls were invaluable. My son was born early during lockdown and we ended up staying in hospital for six days due to breathing difficulties where he had to be put onto oxygen in special care. I had a very emotional chat with Sam from the hospital and it helped so much. We had weekly zoom check ins and these were incredibly helpful. Things change so much during those early days and it helped me hugely to be able to voice my feelings, concerns and give them room to breathe. Sam has also provided amazing practical help as well as emotional support from a postnatal doula - it can honestly make the world of difference in those early days.' - Sarah and baby Harry

'Sam is a natural born doula. She is kind, generous, thoughtful, wise and so easy to spend time with. As our postnatal doula Sam regularly turns up with a green smoothie, her signature energy balls (so yum), a thoughtfully  chosen book and the most wonderful laugh. It’s impossible for her not to lift your spirits, even after the most sleep deprived night. She’s also a fabulous cook, highly professional, organized and proactive. I cannot recommend her highly enough. She is a true gem.' - Elle and baby Max

'Ive never heard of a space that is just for the mum and thats not a baby group where its often competitive chat about what the babies are doing. Its refreshing to be in a safe place where you can be open and honest with how you really feel as a mother the ups and downs and not feel judged by anyone there. Sam has welcomed us into her cosy home which feels a home away from home with beautiful candles, blankets, cushions and homemade treats. We’ve meditated, laughed, cried, listened, shared, comforted and been creative. It has given me more than I thought it would including some wonderful friendships. - Vicci and baby Isla

'Sam's postnatal massage was like no massage I've had before. Not only has it helped heal me physically but I feel emotionally and spiritually too. After what has been a hugely difficult time, being gently rocked was incredibly soothing. The massage made me realise I hadn't touched or treasured my tummy like I had in pregnancy, even though it had once held my precious baby girl. Sam used a short meditation, crystals, smell and music to enhance my experience further and in the comfort of my own home, in the exact place I had birthed my baby, which only made it more special. Thank you for making me feel renewed and restored Sam.' - Vicki and baby Ben
